Operations Manager

Description

An issuance business relies heavily on operational discipline. Reconciliation must be accurate daily, partners must be onboarded cleanly, and processes must withstand scrutiny from regulators and auditors. As the business scales, there is a need for an individual to own this operational spine.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for keeping the business running day to day, coordinating across functions, partners, and Super Group shared services. This is a build role where processes and controls will be established largely independently at first, and then scaled as the business grows.

Responsibilities
  • Run the daily operational rhythm of the stablecoin business: supporting mint, burn, and redemption execution within defined controls.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of ZARsc in circulation against fiat reserves, escalating and resolving breaks quickly.
  • Manage operational incidents end-to-end - identify, coordinate, resolve, document.
  • Own the operational side of key provider relationships (e.g. custody, identity verification, banking operations contacts).
  • Run the operational onboarding of new partners and integrations alongside product and commercial teams.
  • Track vendor contracts, renewals, and service levels.
  • Build and document core operational processes, controls, and SOPs from scratch.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and support compliance, audit, and regulatory information requests.
  • Establish operational tracking and reporting so the leadership team always knows the state of the business.
  • Act as the operational anchor across the business: coordinating priorities across product, compliance, commercial, and engineering.
  • Work with Super Group shared services (finance, legal, compliance) to get things done.
  • Ensure the business runs efficiently, reliably, and with clear accountability.
  • Operate independently in the first phase, then hire and manage operational support as the function scales.
  • Create the foundation for a scalable operations capability.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in operations within fintech, payments, or blockchain/digital assets (required).
  • Hands-on experience with payment operations, reconciliation, or settlement processes, with high accuracy and control (required).
  • Experience operating in regulated environments, with an appreciation for compliance, audit, and reporting requirements (required).
  • A proven track record of building processes and ways of working from scratch in early-stage or scaling environments (required).
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills across internal teams and external partners (required).
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and run multiple operational streams at once (required).
  • High attention to detail across reconciliation, documentation, and day-to-day processes (required).
  • A bias for action, consistently delivering outcomes, not just plans (required).
  • Exposure to stablecoins, digital asset custody platforms (e.g. Fireblocks), or crypto exchanges (nice-to-have).
  • Experience in remittances, cross-border payments, or neobank environments (nice-to-have).
  • A strong understanding of African financial systems or emerging-market dynamics (nice-to-have).
  • Familiarity with reconciliation systems, treasury operations tools, or financial reporting platforms (nice-to-have).
  • Prior experience in a startup or early-stage fintech (nice-to-have).
Benefits
  • Supergrowth learning and development programmes.
  • Performance tool for feedback and career development.
  • Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family.
  • Medical Aid Subsidy.
  • Retirement Annuity Subsidy.
  • Funeral Fund Benefit.
  • Income Continuation Benefit.
  • Group Life Cover.
