Software Engineer II (Full-Stack)

Description

Super Group is building experiences that wow their customers, and that starts with bold, curious people who want to do work that matters. As a software engineer, the role focuses on designing and developing robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions on the Javascript and .NET (C#) frameworks. The individual will be a key contributor to custom software solutions, working closely with other team members to deliver seamless integrations and high-quality products. Their drive and ideas will help Super Group move faster, improve smarter, and stay ahead of the game.

The role involves taking ownership of work that gives Super Group its competitive edge. This includes designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing front-end and back-end applications in accordance with established software engineering standards and best practices. The engineer will develop high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions that meet business and technical requirements. They will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. Maintaining existing systems while proactively identifying opportunities for modernization, enhancement, and performance improvement is also key. The engineer will utilise current and emerging technologies to deliver innovative and efficient software solutions, ensuring software architecture and code quality align with organisational standards and industry best practices. Collaboration with Enterprise Architects to implement architectural designs and technology strategies is expected.

Collaboration and delivery involve working with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Enterprise Architects, and Quality Engineers to deliver software solutions that meet business objectives. Participation in technical discussions, design reviews, sprint planning, and agile development ceremonies is required. Contributing to the continuous improvement of development methodologies, standards, and engineering practices is also part of the role. Providing technical input into solution design, effort estimation, and delivery planning activities is expected.

System support and incident management include providing second and third-line technical support for software applications deployed within the organisation’s technology ecosystem. Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues impacting production environments is necessary. Performing root cause analysis for incidents and implementing sustainable corrective actions is required. Support for system upgrades, patches, releases, and deployment activities is also part of the role. Ensuring minimal disruption to business operations through effective incident and problem management practices is crucial.

System monitoring and performance management involve monitoring application performance, system stability, and service availability. Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, system inefficiencies, and reliability issues is required. Ensuring systems meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational performance standards is important. Supporting proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms to maintain optimal system health and availability is also part of the role.

Documentation and knowledge management include creating, maintaining, and updating comprehensive technical documentation. Ensuring documentation remains accurate, current, and accessible for operational support and future development activities is necessary. Contributing to knowledge sharing and technical capability development within the engineering team is also expected.
