Senior Network Engineer
Digitain is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join its growing infrastructure team. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving high-performance network environments that support large-scale, mission-critical systems.
The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in enterprise networking, network security, and infrastructure architecture, along with a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable LAN, WLAN, and WAN network architectures.
- Deploy and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancing solutions.
- Plan and manage network environments ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Configure and maintain IPSec tunnels, virtual IPs, access lists, and load balancing.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
- Use monitoring and diagnostic tools to analyze and improve system performance.
- Provide Tier 3 support for escalated infrastructure issues.
- Design and implement secure network architectures.
- Configure and maintain VPN solutions (SSL / IPSec).
- Implement and test access control mechanisms and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure compliance with internal security standards.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting or automation tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve network capacity, performance, and scalability.
- Implement monitoring and automation solutions to increase operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and engineering teams.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response when required.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering (required).
- Strong experience designing and operating enterprise network infrastructure (required).
- Experience working in high-availability or large-scale production environments (required).
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking (required).
- Strong experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) (required).
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking (required).
- Understanding of loop prevention mechanisms and network resiliency (required).
- Experience with VPN technologies (SSL VPN, IPSec) (required).
- Familiarity with network access control and security best practices (required).
- Experience configuring and managing firewalls (required).
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Arista routers and switches (required).
- Experience with FortiGate firewalls (required).
- Experience with Aruba campus networking solutions (required).
- Experience with A10 Thunder load balancers (nice-to-have).
- Experience with VXLAN technologies (nice-to-have).
- Proficiency in Python, Perl, or other scripting languages (required).
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Jenkins (required).
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Zabbix or Scrutinizer (required).
- Professional networking certifications such as CCNP or equivalent (required).
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems (required).
- Experience implementing network automation frameworks (required).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills (required).
