Senior Data Science Engineer, Personalization
As a Senior Data Science Engineer for Personalization, you'll shape how millions of customers experience DraftKings' Sportsbook & Casino verticals by transforming data into intelligent, real-time decisions. You'll sit at the center of the Consumer Data Science Team, building machine learning solutions that power personalization, content optimisation, and product innovation.
Your work will directly influence how DraftKings understands and engages its users, deeply embedding data science into its content engine and platforms. In a fast-moving, technology-driven environment, you'll lead high-impact initiatives that define what relevance looks like in sports and iGaming entertainment.
- Lead end-to-end data science initiatives, from problem definition and modelling to production deployment and performance monitoring.
- Design and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms that solve complex business challenges and enhance user engagement.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Analytics teams to integrate scalable data science solutions into live production systems.
- Drive innovation in personalised game recommendations and page layout optimisation by experimenting with new algorithms and data-driven approaches.
- Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions.
- Deploy and maintain production-grade Python software.
- Mentor junior data scientists, champion best practices, and elevate the team’s technical rigor and impact.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (required).
- At least 3 years of professional experience in data science, with deep expertise in machine learning and statistical modelling (required).
- Strong proficiency in Python, along with experience using data manipulation and visualisation tools (required).
- Experience deploying models into production environments and collaborating closely with engineering partners (required).
- A proven ability to break down complex problems into scalable solutions and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment (required).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to cross-functional audiences and senior stakeholders (required).
- Hands-on experience developing personalisation algorithms and applying them to content delivery or user-facing platforms (required).
