Data Engineer
The Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-quality data pipelines and infrastructure that power data products and analytics across the organisation. The role focuses on ensuring data is accurate, timely, and consistently processed, particularly in environments involving high-volume transactional and API-driven systems.
The role involves designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, ingesting data from internal systems and external APIs, and developing scalable data processing workflows. The engineer will integrate data from various sources, handle complex data scenarios, and ensure consistency between source systems and analytical datasets.
Key responsibilities also include implementing transformation logic aligned with architectural data models, building and maintaining structured data layers for analytics consumption, and collaborating closely with the Data Architect on model implementation. The role requires implementing data validation, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to ensure high levels of data accuracy and availability, as well as optimising pipelines for performance and scalability.
