Product Data Analyst – User Behavior & Analytics

Description

EveryMatrix is looking for a Product Data Analyst to join the UXMatrix Product Team and help establish a consistent, evidence-based approach to product development and optimisation. The analyst will define how product performance and user behaviour are measured, ensure that the necessary data is collected accurately, and transform that data into insights and recommendations that Product Owners, UX Designers, Engineering teams, and business stakeholders can act upon.

This role extends beyond dashboard creation and regular reporting. The analyst will investigate user journeys, identify friction and opportunities, support product discovery, define feature-success criteria, and determine whether released initiatives achieve their intended customer and business outcomes. The role involves working across UXMatrix products, with a particular focus on critical frontend journeys such as registration, login, deposit, sportsbook navigation, event discovery, bet placement, casino discovery, promotions, content interaction, and customer retention.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business objectives into measurable product outcomes and KPIs.
  • Establish clear success criteria before features and initiatives enter development.
  • Define leading and lagging indicators across acquisition, activation, engagement, conversion, retention, and feature adoption.
  • Help product teams distinguish between activity metrics, diagnostic metrics, and measurable customer or business outcomes.
  • Ensure product recommendations are supported by reliable data, user research, or clearly documented hypotheses.
  • Define and maintain analytics tracking plans for websites, applications, widgets, and critical user journeys.
  • Translate business questions and measurement objectives into clear technical tracking requirements.
  • Validate analytics implementations before and after release.
  • Monitor data quality and investigate broken events, incomplete parameters, unexpected changes, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Ensure that tracking implementations comply with consent, privacy, security, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Identify abandonment points, friction, behavioural patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Segment users according to relevant characteristics such as acquisition source, device, market, lifecycle stage, product preference, engagement level, or previous behaviour.
  • Conduct funnel, cohort, retention, conversion, path, and behavioural analyses.
  • Combine quantitative data with UX research, customer feedback, technical performance, and operational context.
  • Build and maintain dashboards that provide stakeholders with a clear view of product performance.
  • Create reporting views appropriate for Product Owners, UX teams, Engineering teams, operators, commercial stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Present trends, anomalies, risks, and opportunities clearly and concisely.
  • Reduce dependency on manual reporting by developing reusable and automated dashboards.
  • Ensure KPI definitions remain consistent across products, teams, and reports.
  • Deliver focused analysis and actionable recommendations rather than reporting data without interpretation.
  • Support Product Owners during product discovery by evaluating evidence, sizing opportunities, and identifying behavioural problems.
  • Provide data to support roadmap prioritisation, business cases, and investment decisions.
  • Help product teams formulate measurable hypotheses for proposed product changes.
  • Challenge assumptions and stakeholder requests when they are not supported by evidence or a clearly defined customer problem.
  • Conduct market, benchmark, and competitor analyses when relevant to product decisions.
  • Contribute relevant data and insights to product reviews, client presentations, RFP responses, and strategic discussions.
  • Define hypotheses, success metrics, guardrail metrics, and evaluation criteria for product experiments.
  • Support A/B tests, controlled rollouts, phased releases, and other product-validation methods.
  • Conduct post-launch reviews to determine whether delivered features achieved their intended outcomes.
  • Track whether recommendations lead to product changes and measurable improvements.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, UX Designers, Developers, QA Engineers, Architects, BI teams, operators, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops to define business questions, KPIs, success criteria, and tracking requirements.
  • Proactively identify relevant insights rather than working exclusively from reporting requests.
  • Establish a regular product-insight cadence through reviews, reporting, and focused deep-dive analyses.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about measurement gaps, data-quality risks, and significant product-performance changes.
Requirements
  • At least three years of experience in product analytics, digital analytics, business intelligence, data analysis, or a comparable analytical role. (required)
  • Previous experience in sportsbook, iGaming, gaming, fintech, e-commerce, or another transactional or regulated digital industry. (required)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience extracting, combining, validating, and analysing data from multiple sources. (required)
  • Experience analysing digital-product behaviour, including user journeys, conversion, engagement, feature adoption, and retention. (required)
  • Experience defining analytics events, parameters, tracking plans, event taxonomies, and measurement frameworks. (required)
  • Practical experience with analytics and visualisation tools such as GA4, Microsoft Clarity, Power BI, Looker, Tableau, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or equivalent platforms. (required)
  • Ability to transform complex data into clear findings and actionable product recommendations. (required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences. (required)
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data quality and validation. (required)
  • Experience collaborating with Product, UX, Engineering, QA, BI, and commercial teams. (required)
  • Good understanding of web and mobile application behaviour, including client-side and server-side tracking. (required)
  • Professional proficiency in English. (required)
  • A degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, business, or another relevant discipline. (required)
Benefits
  • Start with 22 days of annual leave, with 2 additional days added each year, up to 32 days by your fifth year.
  • Two Free Fridays each year, limited to one per quarter.
  • 3 sick leave days per year, no doctor's note required.
  • Daily catered lunch or monthly lunch allowance.
  • Private Medical Subscription.
  • Access to online learning platforms like Udemy for Business and LinkedIn Learning, and a budget for external training.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program through TELUS Health.
  • Office perks include parking, on-site massages, and frequent team-building activities.
  • Office space complete with its own pool and gym.
