Chief Accountant
Evolution is looking for a Chief Accountant to ensure that daily accounting operations are conducted in accordance with local legislation, IFRS, and best practices. The role involves managing accounting processes for the local entity, including payroll processing and reporting into the consolidation system.
The Chief Accountant will perform month-end activities, control payments, and provide support during audits. The position requires a professional capable of maintaining internal controls and ensuring adherence to financial regulations while liaising with the Accounting Manager and external auditors.
- Ensuring that daily accounting operations are done in accordance with the local legislation, IFRS and best practices.
- Performing month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
- Controlling and approving payments including payroll, invoices, and taxes.
- Liaising with the Accounting Manager, particularly when coordinating efforts during the month-end close.
- Providing support during audits and liaising with external auditors.
- Preparation of VAT, CIT and fiscal returns and supporting the preparation of all required financial declarations or reports as requested by public and financial institutions.
- Managing the accounting processes for the local entity including payroll processing and reporting into the consolidation system.
- Ensuring that all internal controls are in place and monitoring ongoing adherence.
- Bachelor or higher degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- At least 3-5 years of experience working as a Chief Accountant (required).
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal (required).
- Excellent MS Office skills (required).
- Good accounting software skills (required).
- Very good knowledge of tax and labour code legislation (required).
- The ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary (required).
- Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail (required).
- Ability to work independently, commitment to learn and develop (required).
- Punctuality and ability to meet deadlines (required).
