IT Support Engineer

Description

Evolution is seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide first and second line technical support for company internal users and contractors. The role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting user laptops, workstations, printers, mobile devices, and other office IT equipment.

Responsibilities include configuring, administering, and updating Windows, MAC, and Linux operating systems on user devices, and managing user device environments using user device management tools. The position also requires creating and managing user accounts in Okta, AD, Azure AD, o365, and other systems. Physical network related tasks such as patching, device installation, ports assignment, and cabling are also part of the role, alongside server and network equipment installation and maintenance, and cable patching in data centres and server rooms.

Key duties also include keeping an inventory of IT purchases and assets, creating and updating inventory records, assigning equipment to users, auditing inventory, and performing decommissioning. The IT Support Engineer will work closely with the facility and security teams to resolve security issues and contribute to the constant development and improvements of local IT infrastructure. Providing IT assets management according to internal procedures, ensuring service/system operations and regular/ad-hoc maintenance to meet service availability and security requirements, and timely incident resolution, escalation to third party suppliers, and problem analysis and resolution are also expected.

Further responsibilities include provisioning system updates and deployments according to respective internal procedures, and user request fulfilment according to established SLAs. The role may also involve performing other duties related to the position or IT infrastructure as asked by the manager. Logistics and managing inventory and equipment between locations are also key aspects of the position.

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Secondary (higher, special etc.) education (required)
  • Excellent fluent written and spoken English (required)
  • Good communication and presentation skills (required)
  • Ability to create structured documentation (required)
  • Teamwork skills, ability to take decisions, solve problems independently and in the team and work under high pressure working conditions (required)
  • Fundamental IT skills – hardware, OS, applications, networking, security (required)
  • Experience in deployment and support of Microsoft Windows, MacOS, iOS, Linux operating systems, and business software (required)
  • At least 2 year experience in supporting user IT devices hardware and software (required)
  • Experience using and managing workstations in heterogeneous environment, remote management services, filesharing, collaboration, e-mail and directory services (required)
  • Fundamental knowledge of IT procedures and security principles (required)
  • Certifications on IT systems administration/support (nice-to-have)
