Senior QA Automation Engineer
Evolution is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a newly created, autonomous QA team led by experienced professionals. The team operates independently, with direct guidance and mentorship from the MQA Lead.
The main responsibilities will be to create and maintain automated tests for games from a re-launched iGaming brand. This involves working with an existing Java-based automation framework, adapting and extending it for new game mechanics and validation needs. The role requires validating game responses, feature logic, state transitions, wins, multipliers, and edge cases, as well as executing and analyzing large simulation samples to ensure game mathematical output matches the official game logic document or specification. The engineer will also analyze failed automation runs to identify the source of issues and improve the speed, efficiency, reliability, maintainability, and reporting of the automation framework. Collaboration with QA, developers, math/game teams, and product stakeholders is essential, as is helping to define test coverage for new games and features.

- Help define test coverage for new games and features.
- Senior-level expertise as an Automation QA Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, or SDET (required).
- Experience working with backend/service-level automation, not only UI automation (required).
- Experience with custom or internally built frameworks (required).
- Experience investigating whether failures come from the product, test logic, framework, or integration layer (required).
- Experience optimising high-volume simulation speed and performance (required).
- Strong Java automation skills (required).
- Ability to debug, extend, and adapt existing frameworks (required).
- Strong API/backend testing knowledge (required).
- Ability to validate structured responses, especially JSON (required).
- Good understanding of test design, assertions, and edge-case validation (required).
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills (required).
- Git knowledge (required).
- Ability to read technical specifications and convert them into automated checks (required).
- Strong understanding of mathematical models and statistical distribution (required).
- Node.js knowledge (nice-to-have).
- iGaming, casino, or slot game testing experience is a strong plus (nice-to-have).
- Experience with game mechanics such as free spins, respins, multipliers, jackpots, bonus features, game states, or choice-based flows is a plus (nice-to-have).
