Evolution is seeking a Technical Operations Lead to provide visionary leadership to a diverse team of technical experts. The role involves cultivating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. This includes conducting staff hiring and development to ensure the technical team stays abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices.

The Technical Operations Lead will collaborate closely with project managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align technical capabilities. This includes fostering collaboration with IT, Video, Audio, Equipment Support, Studio Engineering, R&D, and Internal Production teams globally to optimise workflow and development efficiency.

The position requires leading the strategic planning and execution of cutting-edge technical infrastructure, ensuring unparalleled capabilities for 24/7 Live-Studio Production. This encompasses studio floor and studio planning, anticipating potential challenges in studio construction, and devising flexible solutions.

Responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance, calibration, and deployment of broadcast equipment within tight timelines, and ensuring optimal performance. The role also involves implementing and overseeing adherence to relevant systems and control department flow of ticket system projects, such as JIRA, Microsoft Automatization, or other ERP platforms.

Monitoring and managing environmental conditions of technical spaces, like server rooms and studio areas, is crucial for optimal performance and equipment longevity. Workflow optimisation to enhance productivity and reduce operational bottlenecks is also a key aspect. Maintaining a deep understanding of industry regulations, standards, and emerging technologies ensures the organisation's technical operations remain at the forefront of compliance.

Keeping timelines for projects and delegated tasks is essential. Developing and implementing robust contingency plans for technical failures or emergencies during live broadcasts is also a responsibility, ensuring the seamless execution of emergency response protocols for 24/7/365 Live Production Studio.

Evaluation of tight collaboration with procurement & logistics teams, providing technical directions to suppliers, and foreseeing equipment procurement & logistics processes are part of the role. Managing technical aspect relationships along procurement & logistics, with technical service providers and contractors, ensures timely delivery of services or equipment and adherence to quality standards.

Ensuring the team of professionals and technical experts are equipped with the tools and materials required for builds and maintenance is vital. The employee is responsible for the management of the Technical Operations team, equipment installation, maintenance, and repairs according to provided timelines and procedures, and ensuring the uninterrupted work of studio technical equipment. Proper, high-quality, and timely execution of work duties, careful work with company property, compliance and accuracy working with provided information, and adherence to internal regulations and instructions are expected. Activities related to personal safety and timely execution of any other reasonable tasks provided by the Direct Manager falling within the held position are also required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Technical Operations team, delegate tasks, share information within the team, and provide feedback.
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of cutting-edge technical infrastructure for 24/7 Live-Studio Production.
  • Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and deployment of broadcast equipment.
  • Implement and oversee adherence to ticket system projects and ERP platforms.
  • Monitor and manage the environmental conditions of technical spaces.
  • Implement and refine workflows to optimise the utilization of technical resources.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry regulations, standards, and emerging technologies.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Information Technology (IT), Telecommunication or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in Live studio broadcasting production or broadcasting transmission facilities on a technical managerial role (required).
  • Extensive leadership experience in technical operations within the broadcasting industry, demonstrating a track record of strategic planning and execution (required).
  • Proven proficiency in managing cutting-edge broadcast equipment, server room systems, and emerging technologies (required).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure environments (required).
  • Professional Working Proficiency in Armenian and English (required).
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams (required).
  • Team leading capabilities, team management experience (required).
  • Thorough knowledge of IT solutions for video capture and encoding, sound processing and transport, CCTV system, live casino table management infrastructure and data collection, voice over IP, human interface devices for live casino game presenters to ensure training and ensuring quality control in the Technical Operations team (required).
