Basketball Pricing Analyst
FanDuel is looking for a Basketball Pricing Analyst, also known as a Sports Trader, to join its Trading Team. This role involves shaping the odds and betting markets that customers engage with, specifically focusing on the NBA and ideally the WNBA. The position is designed for individuals with a background in numbers, analytics, or a strong passion for basketball, as the company provides comprehensive training for those without prior trading or gambling experience.
This is a hybrid role based in the Jersey City office, where the successful candidate will work in an open-plan environment. The position requires working regular late shifts, typically from 2:30pm to 10:30pm ET, and includes weekend work. The role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced traders to develop expertise in pricing markets, managing risk, and enhancing the sports betting experience for customers.
- Learn to set and manage prices on basketball games, player stats, and futures markets - from pre-game to live in-play odds - using in-house tools and models.
- Monitor real-time news, stats, and industry pricing to help guide trading decisions.
- Trade live games in real time; making quick adjustments to pricing based on game flow, key events, and customer behaviour.
- Collaborate with other Traders and work cross-functionally with other teams within the Risk & Trading department or across the wider FanDuel business, in a cooperative and inclusive environment.
- Help brainstorm new products or ways to improve the customer experience, with consideration for how fans engage with the game.
