Description

FanDuel is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join the team, working on its Flywheel products. This role involves designing and evolving the experience of FanDuel Racing, Fantasy, and Retail products, ensuring that both user and business needs are met to the highest standards.

The Senior Product Designer will collaborate closely with Product, UX Research, Analytics, Content Design, and Engineering partners on a daily basis. This is a highly visible role that will be key to helping FanDuel deliver innovative, new features and build upon existing experiences that customers love.

Responsibilities
  • Leads projects from concept to delivery, navigating challenges and managing priorities independently.
  • Actively seeks and incorporates insights from product, marketing, and engineering to inform design decisions.
  • Acts as a trusted partner to stakeholders, influencing and aligning them on user-centered goals and objectives.
  • Facilitates design reviews, encourages open dialogue, and advocates for clear communication practices within the team.
  • Presents expert knowledge of their domain and user needs, with an understanding of the broader business impact.
  • Analyzes user feedback across multiple touchpoints, collaborating with research and data teams to fill knowledge gaps and validate hypotheses.
  • Mentors and coaches others, supporting their growth and ensuring successful onboarding for new hires.
  • Participates in application review, case study and experience review, and live exercise sessions.
Requirements
  • Experienced professional with a full understanding of one or more functional areas of Product Design (required).
  • Works closely with other Product Designers, Leads, Managers, and Directors to align on consistency of patterns across areas (required).
  • Works on medium-high complexity problems, using best practice to solve problems in effective ways (required).
  • Contributed to multiple projects on multiple shipped products and demonstrated the relevant behaviors and functional knowledge during those projects (required).
  • Trained in best practices of hiring (nice-to-have).
  • Has a solid foundation of a professional network (nice-to-have).
  • Experience working in partnership with product, engineering, and research teams (required).
  • Experience leading/participating in design workshops with cross-functional teams (required).
  • Advanced skill set level in Figma including design systems, component management, variants, and prototyping (required).
  • Minimum 3+ years of professional Figma experience (required).
  • Spends time observing customers, and runs usability research sessions with minimal support from the UX Research team (required).
  • Uses quant and qual data to aid in validating solutions with them (required).
  • Works closely with research and data to fill knowledge gaps, or validate hypothesis (required).
  • Has extensive expertise in visual hierarchy, layout and information architecture (required).
  • Displaying a strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies (required).
  • Designing for scale and consistently, advocating for the use and contribution to the design system (required).
  • A respected partner amongst peers in product and engineering (required).
  • Identifies product overlaps and gaps in their own work (required).
  • Good working knowledge of user research process and methodologies (required).
  • Maintains a good knowledge of customer behaviour in a product (required).
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of designing with accessibility and inclusivity (required).
