Sports Trader Intern – Summer 2027

Description

FanDuel is seeking a Sports Trader Intern for its Risk and Trading team. This 10-week summer program offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the team's work, providing a cohort experience with social events and professional development. There is a possibility of being considered for a full-time opportunity or a return internship.

Sports Traders at FanDuel are responsible for the odds that customers bet on, utilizing statistics, in-house models, industry news, and knowledge to formulate accurate odds. They manage these odds throughout their lifecycle, including moving prices in response to breaking news or using in-house models during live games. Comprehensive training is provided, and the successful candidate will be well supported. The ideal candidate is passionate about sports, likes numbers, has a high attention to detail, is calm under pressure, and is comfortable with numbers. Teamwork, organization, and a customer-first approach are also valuable skills.

The role requires an office presence each day in the Jersey City office, which is located across from the Newport PATH station. The primary workstation will be in a dynamic trading floor area with constant noise and media activity. The role will also require some weekend and out-of-hours work due to the nature of sports schedules.

  • Monitor prices and learn to make moves where necessary, taking into consideration things like player news, customer behavior, and industry prices.
  • Collaborate with various teams around the business to manage liabilities, onsite display, and ensure compliance across different jurisdictions.
  • Compare competitor offerings to ensure FanDuel has the best offering in the market for customers.
  • Contribute to other projects that may arise during the internship.
