Animator
Flutter International is seeking a 2D Animator to join the Animation Team within the Creative Department. The role focuses on bringing characters, objects, and game elements to life for mobile slot games, requiring a balance of realistic and stylized animation techniques. The successful candidate will utilise tools such as Spine 2D and After Effects to create engaging and polished animations that adhere to the 12 Principles of Animation.
The position involves working in a hybrid environment, collaborating with designers and cross-functional teams to ensure creative elements align with product specifications. - Create high-quality animations and visual effects for characters, creatures, animals, symbols, props and other game elements, ensuring proper staging, timing, and seamless integration with other game elements.
- Work with both stylized and realistic animation.
- Plan and present animation concepts, including animatics for prototypes and early-stage ideas, based on product specifications and project constraints.
- Review and quality-check final animations and effects, ensuring they meet product requirements and the team's quality standards.
- Collaborate with designers and cross-functional teams throughout the game development process to ensure all creative elements work together to deliver the best possible player experience.
- Contribute to creative discussions, including art reviews and brainstorming sessions, staying open to feedback and direction.
- Research market trends and competitor games to keep animation work fresh, relevant, and competitive.
- Drive innovation by introducing new tools, techniques, and best practices to improve the animation process.
- Maintain a library of reusable animation and visual effect assets to support efficiency on future projects.
- A demo reel showcasing your most outstanding animation and visual effects work (required).
- Hands-on experience creating animations and visual effects for games or interactive media (required).
- Strong understanding of core animation principles (timing, spacing, staging, etc.) and their application in game design (required).
- Proficiency in animation software (Spine 2D or similar) (required).
- Ability to create compelling visual effects and understand how they enhance user experience (required).
- Excellent collaboration skills - you work well with designers, developers, and stakeholders across teams (required).
- Strong communication skills and confidence presenting your work to audiences at all levels (required).
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality (required).
- A problem-solving mindset and willingness to adapt and take on varied tasks as needed (required).
- 5+ years of professional experience in animation and visual effects (nice-to-have).
- Familiarity with casino slot games or gaming industry trends (nice-to-have).
- Knowledge of video editing techniques and marketing-focused storytelling (nice-to-have).
- Experience with game design tools and workflows beyond animation software (nice-to-have).
- A degree or formal qualification in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field (nice-to-have).
- Experience with innovation initiatives or introducing new techniques to animation workflows (nice-to-have).
