Node JS Developer
Flutter International is looking for a skilled Backend Developer with experience in Node.js to join the team. The role involves building and maintaining scalable backend applications and services, contributing to a robust and high-performance infrastructure that powers a seamless user experience across platforms.
The successful candidate will develop backend services in Node.js and support or improve existing systems as needed. They will collaborate closely with other engineers, participate in technical discussions, and help evolve backend architecture and best practices. The role requires taking ownership of the performance and stability of backend services, ensuring all APIs operate efficiently, proactively identifying and resolving issues, and driving rapid incident resolution.
This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys clean, maintainable code, API design, and continuous improvement. The role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing for a combination of working from home and working in the office.
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and secure backend solutions.
- Participate in technical design discussions and continuously improve backend architecture and performance.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrations, including real-time features such as WebSockets.
- Integrate with databases, message brokers, third-party services, and external APIs.
- Write clean, reusable, and testable code, perform unit tests, and help maintain high standards for code quality through reviews.
- Debug and optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and security.
- Maintain technical documentation and API guidelines.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong hands-on backend development (required)
- 2+ years of backend experience in Node.js with TypeScript (required)
- Solid experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs (required)
- Strong grasp of backend architecture, scalability, microservices, and API security best practices (required)
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows such as GitHub or GitLab (required)
- Familiarity with Agile processes (required)
- Experience with testing including unit, integration, and end-to-end using tools such as Jest, Mocha, or Supertest (required)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker, and orchestration with Kubernetes (required)
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, though GCP or Azure are also valued (required)
- Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, with Nest.js considered a plus (required)
- Experience optimizing backends for scalability, maintainability, and performance (required)
- Good grasp of microservices, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing such as queues, Kafka, or RabbitMQ (required)
- Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms including OAuth2, JWT, and OpenID Connect (required)
- Knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and non-relational databases like MongoDB or Redis (required)
- Experience with monorepo setups (nice-to-have)
- Understanding of security principles for web and API development such as OWASP Top Ten (required)
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation (nice-to-have)
