Senior DevOps Engineer

Description

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in automating, optimising, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of performance and availability. You will collaborate closely with software development teams to integrate various technologies, including Git, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), Fargate, and Helm, into CI/CD pipelines.

The role involves designing infrastructure, enforcing security best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support platform reliability and business continuity.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for custom-developed applications using Git, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Deploy, automate, and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments, ensuring scalability, high availability, performance, and resilience.
  • Manage and optimize containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), supporting seamless application deployment and scaling.
  • Utilize AWS Fargate to deploy and manage serverless container workloads, improving operational efficiency and reducing infrastructure overhead.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts to streamline Kubernetes application deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines, including vulnerability management, compliance monitoring, and security audits.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications and infrastructure, leveraging automation and proactive alerting to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with development, architecture, and operations teams to promote DevOps best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.
  • Support platform reliability, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure service availability and resilience.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures to support effective knowledge sharing and governance.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cloud, DevOps, and automation technologies, recommending and implementing improvements where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, Cloud Engineering, or Software Development. (required)
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines and automation processes. (required)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Git, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), AWS Fargate, and Helm. (required)
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages. (required)
  • Solid understanding of AWS networking, including VPCs, Transit Gateways, Route 53, Security Groups, and Load Balancers. (required)
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and services, including HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, DNS, and TCP/IP. (required)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management. (required)
  • Familiarity with database administration, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting. (required)
  • Experience implementing security best practices, compliance controls, and vulnerability management in cloud and containerized environments. (required)
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. (required)
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a collaborative team environment. (required)
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills. (required)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. (nice-to-have)
  • Relevant AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or DevOps certifications. (nice-to-have)
