Deal Desk - Media Planner
The Deal Desk Media Planner will support Genius Sports' Deal Desk by managing inbound planning requests, building standardized and custom media packages, and maintaining accurate inventory availability across Always-On and bespoke programs. This role plays a critical function in scaling deal throughput as demand grows, freeing up senior planners to focus on high-value strategy while ensuring consistent, repeatable, and high-quality planning outputs across all inventory and audience products.
The Media Planner will be a key contributor to improving speed-to-market, standardization, and revenue efficiency across the sales organization.
- Manage inbound deal requests from Sales, Account Management and Client Success teams.
- Build Always-On and Custom media packages aligned to inventory availability, audience definitions, and commercial objectives.
- Maintain and update the inventory calendar, ensuring accurate visibility into availability, flighting, and sell-through.
- Support the standardization of packaging, pricing inputs, and planning workflows across media products.
- Partner closely with commercial stakeholders to operationalize planning strategies at scale, managing the feedback loop for ongoing optimization.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across proposals, including targeting, inventory assumptions, and delivery expectations.
- Identify process improvements to increase planning efficiency and reduce friction.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Deal Desk, and Media Operations teams.
- 2+ years of experience in media planning, deal desk, or advertising operations (programmatic or digital media preferred) (required).
- Strong understanding of omnichannel media inventory, audience targeting, and packaging fundamentals (required).
- Experience working with planning tools, inventory trackers, and media calendars (required).
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously (required).
- Strong organizational and communication skills (required).
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, revenue-driven environments (required).
- Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (required).
- Experience with media planning systems (nice-to-have).
- Experience supporting programmatic or data-driven advertising products (nice-to-have).
- Familiarity with SSP, DSP, or curated marketplace platform mechanics and dynamics (nice-to-have).
- Experience working in sports, media, or ad tech environments (nice-to-have).
- Enjoy building scalable processes and templates from the ground up (nice-to-have).
- The salary for this role is based on an annualized range of $85,000 - $110,000 USD.
