Game Operations Specialist
This role is part of Genius' team that helps sports leagues and teams boost performance on and off the field using cutting-edge tech, analytics, and visual insights. The role is responsible for ensuring the overall success of tracking and event validation for multiple sports leagues around the world.
The specialist will lead the team to process live tracks, validate sports-specific markings and events, handle day-to-day activities, develop and implement future strategies, and work closely with department leadership to meet expectations and objectives.
- Oversee live tracking and event validation across global leagues, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and high team performance.
- Develop deep expertise in tracking systems and workflows, ensuring full control and continuous improvement of operations.
- Maintain and enhance operational documentation, critically evaluating and optimising ways of working.
- Support and influence staffing decisions in alignment with engineering developments and client SLAs.
- Act as the go-to expert for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues and failures.
- Lead operational support during live matches, serving as the main point of contact for Genius IQ games.
- Monitor and evaluate data discrepancies, ensuring accurate and high-quality data delivery.
- Work closely with international teams to ensure seamless coordination across multiple offices.
- Manage and coordinate a large pool of contractors, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery.
- Monitor and guide the performance of rotating international teams, applying strong people management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate strong focus and consistency when handling repetitive workflows in a high-volume environment (required).
- Bring experience and understanding of the sports data ecosystem and its operational dynamics (required).
- Make accurate, time-critical decisions during live data processing and operational support scenarios (required).
- Effectively collaborate in real time with distributed teams across different locations (required).
- Maintain a strong understanding of major professional sports leagues and their competitive landscape (required).
- Ensure high levels of precision and speed, delivering reliable and error-free outputs under pressure (required).

- Must be able and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (required).
- Must be able and available to work according to the various sporting league schedules, which include holidays during the regular season (including the day after Christmas Day (Boxing Day) and New Year's Day) (required).
