Software Engineer III
Genius Sports is seeking a Software Engineer III to join an established, high-performing team within its Betting division. The role focuses on the delivery of technical and product-focused initiatives to expand and scale the company's leading Sportsbook and Risk Management products. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary Agile squad to build highly distributed, real-time, and dynamically scaling systems using modern CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.

The role requires a data-driven, evidence-based mentality, with a focus on continuous experimentation, validation, and the application of pragmatic problem-solving skills within an Agile environment.
- Innovate, architect, deliver, and maintain industry-revolutionising products.
- Build highly distributed, real-time, dynamically scaling systems using modern CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary Agile squad to focus on business priorities.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain strong ownership of the team's domain.
- Apply a data-driven and evidence-based approach to continuous experimentation and validation.
- Lead conversations that drive alignment and uncover edge cases in complex domains.
- Act as a facilitator and balance enabling others with individual contributions.
- Expert level knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language (C#, Java, JS, Kotlin, Python, PHP, Golang, C++) (required)
- Flexibility to work on all areas of the service stack, including front-end, back-end, and infrastructure (required)
- Understanding of the principles of good software design, including information hiding, abstraction, module design, cohesion, and coupling (required)
- Knowledge of testing methodology (TDD) and designing high-quality, resilient testing suites (required)
- Understanding of data structures, databases, and caching technologies (required)
- Ability to bring clarity to complex domains and challenge unclear requirements (required)
- Curiosity and a strong desire to learn and improve (required)

- Excellent spoken and written English (required)

- Expert knowledge of C# (preferred)
- Broader software architecture knowledge of patterns for highly-scalable, fault-tolerant, observable microservices (preferred)
- Knowledge of source control, continuous integration, pipeline design, containerised workloads, and infrastructure as code (preferred)
- Operation of Kubernetes Clusters (preferred)
- Building cloud native applications on AWS (preferred)
- Messaging and asynchronous communication technologies such as RabbitMQ or Pulsar (preferred)
- Front-end web technologies including React and shadcn (preferred)
- Domain Driven Design (preferred)
- Mathematical aptitude, particularly statistics (preferred)
- Data Engineering skills (preferred)
- Experience in building production grade software with Agentic AI (preferred)
- Monthly salary ranging from €6,250 to €7,500 gross
