Sports Data Quality Operators: Basketball
Genius Sports is seeking a Sports Data Quality Operator for basketball to review and quality-check match data in non-live environments. The role involves identifying and correcting play-by-play sequencing and data errors to ensure high-quality information.
This is an entry-level position that requires the analysis of recorded match video and the tagging of basketball actions. The operator will work with internal tools and collaborate with supervisors to address issues and implement improvements. This role is offered under a service provider contract and is fully remote within Colombia.
- Review and quality-check match data in non-live environments.
- Identify and correct play-by-play sequencing and data errors.

- Strong passion and knowledge of basketball (required).
- Experience playing or coaching at a competitive, amateur or semi-professional level (required).
- Excellent attention to detail with high accuracy and efficiency (required).
- Good understanding of game rules, terminology, and match flow (required).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup (required).
- Strong English communication and solid computer skills (required).
- Good understanding of the current landscape and recent past of major professional basketball leagues (required).
- Hands-on experience with sports data entry, play-by-play QA, or tracking systems (nice-to-have).
- Prior work in live operations, game supervision, or quality assurance (nice-to-have).
- Comfort with basic reporting/dashboards (e.g., spreadsheets) to share findings and trends (nice-to-have).
