Staff Product Manager, Digital Match Capture

Description

Genius Sports is seeking an exceptional Staff Product Manager to lead its digital match capture products within the Data & AI team. The role involves working with major global sporting leagues to build, enhance, and maintain products that capture, process, and deliver tracking data to teams, leagues, and external developers.

The successful candidate will own positional tracking across the entire product lifecycle, from initial ideation and discovery through to build, launch, and ongoing improvement. This position requires a leader who can navigate the intersection of positional tracking, computer vision, digital twins, and 3D capture to drive market-leading innovation.

Genius Sports is looking for a professional experienced in delivering modern, data-driven B2B SaaS products. The role requires the ability to manage a product that serves both as a customer-facing offering and as a foundational platform for the broader Genius Sports portfolio, while moving fluidly between deep technical discussions and strategic executive-level planning.

Responsibilities
  • Operate as a platform product manager by balancing first-party and third-party requirements and defining interfaces that enable both without fragmenting the platform.
  • Understand customer needs across teams, leagues, external developers, and internal application teams to drive the delivery of positional tracking.
  • Own the product lifecycle end-to-end, including live-operations quality, reliability, and new capability development.
  • Define and evangelise a clear, prioritised product roadmap and communicate it consistently to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with computer vision, systems, and data platform engineers, downstream product managers, operations, design, and business teams to ensure initiatives are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Explore next-generation capture opportunities to improve tracking quality, coverage, and automation using evidence from prototypes and customer feedback.
  • Provide strategic direction on long-term investment opportunities, evaluating trade-offs and prioritising in consultation with cross-divisional partners.
  • Balance investment across three horizons to ensure a mix of incremental improvement and long-term innovation.
  • Define KPIs, build performance dashboards, and make data-driven decisions using qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Partner with commercial, marketing, and operations teams to support go-to-market motions and translate feedback into product requirements.
  • Mentor less experienced product managers and raise the quality of product practice.
  • Stay current on computer vision tracking technology, real-time data platforms, and competitor offerings.
Requirements
  • 6-12 years of relevant product management experience (required).
  • Experience leading a complex product or platform with significant business, customer, or operational impact (required).
  • Product management experience building B2B SaaS, platform, or data products (required).
  • Strong grasp of product lifecycle mechanics including discovery, analysis, OKRs, ideation, and prioritisation (required).
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional programmes with engineering, operations, and downstream partners (required).
  • Technical fluency sufficient to work with computer vision, systems, and data platform engineers (required).
  • Ability to create clarity in technically ambiguous spaces involving positional tracking, 3D capture, and real-time systems (required).
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills (required).
  • Experience working in and delivering products in an agile or lean environment (required).
  • Proficiency in gathering and transforming requirements into a practical, prioritised product roadmap (required).
  • Track record of mentoring less experienced product managers (required).
  • Domain experience in sports, computer vision, real-time systems, developer products, 3D capture, or digital twins (nice-to-have).
  • Familiarity with WebGPU, Unity, Unreal, or comparable engines and runtimes (nice-to-have).
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience (required).
Benefits
  • Competitive salary range of $212,000 - $240,000.
  • Eligibility to participate in the Genius Sports Group benefits plan.
  • Support for employee wellbeing and professional career growth.
