US Sports Desk Manager
Genius Sports is seeking a US Sports Desk Manager to join a central operations team. This role involves leading a high-performing trading desk focused on delivering a best-in-class US sports live product.
This is a hands-on managerial role where the successful candidate will coach, mentor, and develop traders. The manager will oversee workload and resource allocation while driving quality, reporting, and cross-team communication in a fast-paced environment. Prior industry experience is highly valuable. Strong knowledge of US sports is essential.
- Manage a team responsible for trading US sports events offered as live product.
- Own and optimise operational processes, SOPs, and quality standards.
- Plan staffing, shifts, and resources, including short- and long-term capacity planning.
- Analyse and report on team performance and KPIs, and drive continuous improvement.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff by providing feedback, training, and career support.
- Ensure the desk meets productivity, quality, and target outcomes.
- Coordinate daily with Product, Modelling, Risk, Commercial, and Support teams.
- Communicate updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Oversee incident and escalation management and conduct post-mortems to improve reliability.
- Proven people-management experience in trading, operations, or a related domain (required).
- Deep knowledge of US sports (e.g., NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) and betting/trading principles (required).
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and decision-making skills under pressure (required).
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) (required).
- High integrity with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality (required).
