Description

The Finance department is looking for a Finance AI & Process Automation Engineer to help shape the future of Finance digitalization. This role sits at the intersection of business needs and cutting-edge technology, transforming ideas into real, working solutions.

The engineer will collaborate closely with stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, and Controlling to map existing workflows, identify automation and AI opportunities, and bring practical solutions to life. The role involves acting as both a hands-on builder and an internal sparring partner, supporting the Finance organization in adopting data-driven tools, AI-powered applications, and intelligent automation, including agentic AI systems. Ownership of initiatives from concept through to implementation and promoting knowledge sharing around new technologies within the Finance department are key aspects of this position.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered and data-driven solutions for Finance, Accounting, and Controlling processes.
  • Analyze existing Finance workflows, identify digitalization opportunities, and translate them into practical technical solutions.
  • Build and deploy automation solutions for recurring Finance tasks, reports, and operational workflows.
  • Explore, evaluate, and implement AI tools - including AI agents and agentic workflows - to support day-to-day Finance operations.
  • Act as the internal expert and sparring partner for AI applications, prompt engineering, and process automation use cases.
  • Bring awareness of emerging digital trends, AI frameworks, and automation technologies into the Finance organization.
  • Support the rollout, testing, and continuous improvement of new tools and digital solutions across the Finance department.
  • Improve the availability, reliability, and quality of Finance data and reporting processes.
  • Work hands-on to take initiatives from concept through to production implementation.
Requirements
  • Relevant educational background in Business Informatics, Data Engineering, Data Science, Digital Transformation, Finance, or a related field (required).
  • Practical experience in process automation, finance transformation, business intelligence, or data engineering (required).
  • Hands-on experience with data, reporting tools, databases, or workflow automation solutions in a business setting (required).
  • Strong understanding of AI tools and applications - including LLMs, prompt-based workflows, or AI agents (required).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex business needs into efficient technical solutions (required).
  • Strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders (required).
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or similar for data engineering and automation tasks (required).
  • Experience with agentic AI frameworks (e.g. LangChain, AutoGen, n8n, or similar) (nice-to-have).
  • Familiarity with Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or financial reporting processes (nice-to-have).
  • Knowledge of RPA tools, ETL pipelines, or BI platforms (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) (nice-to-have).

  • The minimum gross annual salary for this position according to the applicable collective agreement is €60.000 (full-time basis, paid in 14 salaries). A higher salary is possible depending on qualifications and experience.
