Tech Lead
The company is looking for a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys building scalable systems while growing high-performing teams. This role will play a key part in shaping the product and technical direction.
The position involves software development, quality, and operations. Responsibilities include contributing to scalable solutions, working with data models and persistence, and applying software design principles to deliver testable and maintainable code. Collaboration with Product Owners to refine requirements and support implementation is also key.
Further responsibilities include overseeing production systems with a focus on stability, performance, and maintainability, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and DevOps practices. Ensuring proper observability through logging, monitoring, and system transparency is also part of the role.
The role also encompasses team enablement and delivery, including mentoring developers, creating clarity in technical discussions, promoting consistent engineering standards, and supporting planning and estimation. Maintaining visibility of the team's technical progress and resolving technical blockers are also important.
Technical ownership and direction involve driving the technical direction of the team, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the overall architecture. Taking ownership of architectural and design decisions, maintaining visibility of system architecture, and ensuring system health by addressing technical debt are crucial. Alignment with architects and other teams to ensure consistency across the platform is also required.
- Contribute to scalable solutions across services, integrations, databases, including different communication patterns such as REST APIs, messaging, and asynchronous processing.
- Work with data models and persistence using Entity Framework or EF Core and relational databases.
- Apply software design principles, patterns, and clean architecture to deliver testable and maintainable code.
- Contribute to code quality through reviews and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to refine requirements and support implementation.
- Oversee production systems with a focus on stability, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and DevOps practices across the team.
- Ensure proper observability through logging, monitoring, and system transparency.
- Mentor and support developers, contributing to their growth and the overall capability of the team.
- Create clarity in technical discussions and help drive decisions to closure.
- Promote consistent engineering standards and raise the overall technical quality.
- Support planning, estimation, and prioritisation with a strong technical perspective.
- Ensure the team delivers reliably, balancing speed, quality, and sustainability.
- Maintain visibility of the team's technical progress, help keep delivery on track together with the backlog priorities, and support the resolution of technical blockers or escalations within the team.
- Drive the technical direction of the team, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the overall architecture.
- Take ownership of architectural and design decisions, balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability.
- Maintain visibility of system architecture, dependencies, and potential risks.
- Ensure system health by actively addressing technical debt, performance, and maintainability.
- Align with architects and other teams to ensure consistency across the platform.
- At least 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role (e.g. Tech Lead or similar) (required).
- Demonstrated ability to guide a team, drive technical decisions, and improve team outcomes (required).
- Strong experience in full stack development using technologies such as .NET (Core / .NET 8+), Angular, relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL), and modern development and DevOps practices (required).
- Hands-on experience with Entity Framework / EF Core, including data modelling, migrations, and working with relational database designs in production environments (required).
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and scalable architecture (required).
- Deep understanding of software design principles, patterns, and clean architecture (required).
- Solid understanding of software delivery practices, including version control workflows, CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, release management, QA processes, and multi-environment deployments (required).
- Experience with containerisation and cloud-native setups (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) (required).
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to make and drive decisions (required).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills (required).
- Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment (required).
- Excellent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders (required).
- Experience mentoring developers and enabling team performance (required).

- Fluent in English (required).
- Familiarity with API gateways, messaging systems, gRPC, or asynchronous architectures (nice-to-have).
- Experience with performance tuning, query optimisation, and database scalability (nice-to-have).
