Compliance Officer
Hacksaw Gaming is looking for a passionate and driven Compliance Officer to join the team. The role is suited for an individual who enjoys working in a dynamic, highly regulated environment and is dedicated to helping the business stay compliant while supporting sustainable growth.
The Compliance Officer will play a key role in ensuring that Hacksaw Gaming adheres to all applicable laws, licensing requirements, and internal policies. This position is based on-site in Msida, Malta.
- Assisting with monitoring and navigating changes in regulatory landscapes and ensuring the business is proactive in adapting to any applicable new requirements.
- Assisting with monitoring the company adherence to applicable laws, licensing requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
- Contributing to continuous improvements in compliance processes.
- Conducting customer due diligence reviews on all prospective business relationships, including customer identification and verification, sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening, and OSINT checks, in accordance with the Company internal AML/CFT framework, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assisting with the Company ongoing monitoring obligations, including conducting periodic due diligence reviews, monitoring for changes in customer risk profiles, and managing notifications relating to screening and expired documentation, such as identification documents, licences, and other due diligence records.
- Reviewing marketing materials before publication to ensure compliance with internal guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Contributing to the development, review, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure business operations align with regulations.
- Supporting the delivery of regulatory compliance guidance across the business to promote a culture of compliance.
- Supporting the process of obtaining and maintaining license applications and renewals in new and existing markets.
- Supporting the team with data gathering exercises, such as information required for risk assessments, regulatory questionnaires, or audits.
- Maintaining accurate, complete and up-to-date compliance records.
- Supporting with other ad hoc compliance tasks as required.
- A degree in law, finance, business management, or a related field (required).
- At least 1 year experience in a compliance role within the online gaming industry or other similar highly regulated industry (required).
- Familiarity with online gaming industry regulations and practices (preferred).
- A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team (required).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively (required).
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills (required).
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal (required).
