Project Manager (Design) III
Project Managers at IGT are responsible for overseeing several large, complex game development initiatives throughout the complete project management lifecycle. They work in a highly collaborative environment to drive and support development and ensure the delivery of high-quality games on schedule. This includes planning and coordinating all aspects of game projects from inception through regulatory submission.
This role serves as a central point of coordination for cross-functional game development contributors, including Producers, Project Managers, Graphic Artists, Mathematicians, Developers, Technical Artists, Test Engineers, and, occasionally, third-party contractors.
- Work with fellow Project Managers to facilitate game development initiatives, support business goals, and identify best practices.
- Facilitate the development and delivery of game projects from inception through submission, managing less complex product lines and/or markets with oversight as needed and increasingly complex product lines and/or markets with appropriate guidance.
- Support higher-level Project Manager team members with game projects of advanced complexity for assigned market(s).
- Engage with project teams to develop iteration plans that deliver against the roadmap and/or game design vision, with oversight as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation, notes, meeting outcomes, and schedules with game teams.
- Develop, track, and report on project progress, resources (e.g., staff, assets, and time), and project metrics using a variety of reporting methods.
- Identify and monitor project risks, issues, change requests, and mitigation plans in accordance with development management strategies.
- Serve as a liaison for cross-functional team requests, including prioritizing requests based on their impact on the game development process.
- Review delivered results and team performance.
- Analyze and remove project barriers and roadblocks, with assistance as needed.
- Facilitate effective information flow among project team members.
- Adapt and improve by applying lessons learned from past challenges and constructive feedback to the game production process.
- Utilize knowledge of market influences to support IGT product development projects and patent proposals.
- Support the team, studio, and/or business with unique tasks or project requests outside the routine game development responsibilities of Project Managers.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (required)
- Experience managing projects and leading cross-functional project teams (required)
- Knowledge of low- and moderately complex IGT product lines and markets (required)
- Awareness of market segmentation within the gaming industry and applicable gaming regulatory requirements (required)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar programs (required)
- Ability to identify needs and opportunities and develop effective solutions (required)
- Ability to communicate ideas and direction effectively to a cross-functional game development team (required)
- Demonstrated success delivering quality products through consistent achievement of milestones from inception through completion (required)
- Familiarity with software engineering and project management techniques and methodologies (required)
- Strong oral and written communication skills (required)
- Strong organizational skills (required)
- 3–6 years of experience managing projects and leading project teams (preferred)
- Agile, Scrum, or PMI certification (preferred)
- Proficient knowledge of the IGT game development process and the responsibilities of cross-functional game development contributors (preferred)
