Spine Animator III
The P3 Animator is responsible for producing high-quality 2D animations for player-facing gamification features and interactive UI components. The role is focused primarily on Spine animation, with responsibility for bringing illustrated assets to life in a performant, production-ready format suitable for real-time use in games and engagement platforms. This role works closely with illustrators, UI/UX designers, front-end developers, and product teams to ensure animations are aligned with product specifications, technical constraints, and delivery timelines. Experience in iGaming or real-time game animation is strongly preferred.
- Create and implement 2D animations using Spine for gamification features, mini-games, UI widgets, and interactive elements.
- Animate characters, UI elements, effects, and transitions based on provided illustrations and design specifications.
- Prepare animation assets optimized for real-time rendering, performance, and memory constraints.
- Collaborate with illustrators to ensure assets are animation-ready (rigging, layering, naming conventions).
- Work with front-end developers to support correct animation integration, states, triggers, and transitions.
- Iterate on animations based on product, design, and technical feedback.
- Ensure animation quality, consistency, and alignment with established visual and motion guidelines.
- Support delivery planning by providing estimates and input on animation scope and complexity.
- Maintain and update animations across multiple markets, skins, and configurations where required.
- Strong hands-on experience with Spine (Esoteric Software) in production environments.
- Solid background in 2D animation principles (timing, easing, anticipation, mesh deformation, loops).
- Experience animating UI elements and characters for games or interactive products.
- Ability to work with layered illustration files and structured asset pipelines.
- Understanding of real-time animation constraints (state machines, atlases, draw calls).
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with designers and developers.
- Portfolio demonstrating Spine-based animation work (game or real-time focused).
Collaboration & Process
- Works closely with the Creative Director, UI/UX designers, illustrators, and front-end developers.
- Deliver animation assets that are production-ready, performant, and aligned with product specs.
- Operate with minimal supervision on assigned animation tasks.
- Meet agreed delivery timelines and support predictable execution.
- Actively collaborate across design, product, and engineering functions.
- Maintain a consistent animation quality bar across all assigned features.
Nice to Have
- Experience with After Effects, Animate, or similar tools for motion design or prototyping.
- Prior experience in iGaming, casual games, or social games.
- Familiarity with exporting animations for web or game engines (e.g. JSON, sprite sheets).
- Experience working with layouting tools or in-house UI assembly tools.
