LeoVegas is looking for an experienced backend developer with a curious mindset and a passion for building intuitive, cutting-edge solutions with state-of-the-art technology. As part of the Retention domain, the role will play a key part in developing the platforms and features that keep players engaged and coming back for more. This is an opportunity to join a fast-moving, flat-structured team as a Senior Backend Engineer, where work will directly shape value-generating features across LeoVegas' products.

The Retention team powers the organisation with communication capabilities, ranging from indirect and direct communication with players to a custom-built toolbox that enriches the player journey with bonuses, loyalty programmes, and seamless cross-channel experiences. As one of the most crucial parts of the player lifecycle, the Retention domain ensures players return for new, exciting, and rewarding experiences. LeoVegas is driven by excellence and fuelled by innovation and is looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey.

Responsibilities
  • Building scalable, robust and efficient solutions in a full-stack team and ensuring the continuous delivery in a microservice architecture.
  • Being involved in technical discussions to challenge, propose, evaluate, and take a guiding and supportive approach to business needs.
  • Working closely with our operational units and stakeholders.
  • Driving your own initiatives with a high-quality mindset.
  • Working within the full chain of development, having end-to-end responsibilities.
  • Collaborative work across the organisation with other domains.
  • Making sure our IT ecology is scalable and ready for upcoming expansions.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience working as a back-end developer with Java and/or Kotlin (required)
  • Experience with messaging tools (i.e. Kafka) (required)
  • Experience with microservice architecture (required)
  • Experience with common Java frameworks such as Spring and JPA (required)
  • MySQL relational databases are not something new for you (required)
  • Experience with AI tools like Claude (required)
  • Experience with OpenAPI (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with BigQuery (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with Kubernetes (nice-to-have)
