Backend Engineer - Sports
LeoVegas is looking for a Backend Engineer to join its dynamic team in Málaga. In this role, the engineer will play a crucial part in the Sportsbook domain, working on impactful problems and bringing about change with effective momentum.
The engineer will collaborate closely with senior engineers, participating in tech meetings, validating architectural decisions, and ensuring seamless communication flow. Additionally, the engineer will work collaboratively with various teams, contributing to planning, tech solutions discussions, and feature development. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive solutions and actively shape the backend architecture.
- Taking ownership, problem-solving and collaborating with other teams.
- Designing and implementing from idea to production.
- Building for scale, availability, performance and security across the stack.
- Working with product managers, architects, QA engineers and other developers in a highly collaborative agile environment.
- Integrating new products and building internal services to support the ecosystem.
- Conducting code reviews and mentoring team members.
- Ensuring services are production-ready, observable, and maintainable through monitoring, alerting, and on-call participation.
- 4+ Years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot and Event-Driven Architectures (required).
- Experience designing Microservices, K8s and Containerization (Docker) and Kafka messaging systems (required).
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and caching (required).
- Implementing resilience patterns (e.g., retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation) (required).
- Designing and maintaining monitoring dashboards (e.g., metrics, logs, traces) and alerts to proactively detect issues (required).
- Hands-on experience developing highly scalable RESTful end-to-end Microservices (required).
- Familiarity with Reactive Programming (e.g. RxJava) and Vert.x (nice-to-have).
- Experience in platforms like AWS and Google Cloud Platform (nice-to-have).
- Online gaming and gambling experience (nice-to-have).
