Engineering Manager - Payments
An Engineering Manager is sought to lead a team of engineers building internal tooling and APIs within the payments domain. The role involves ensuring system reliability, delivering new features, and driving business-critical initiatives.
This area manages web applications and APIs, where the manager will oversee daily operations, drive technical execution, and support team growth across the whole employee lifecycle, including hiring and developing talent.
- Run daily standups.
- Hold regular one-on-ones.
- Drive goal setting and career development.
- Lead hiring and onboarding.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship.
- Track and act on engineering KPIs.
- Participate in code reviews and pull request approvals.
- Lead technical discussions and discovery sessions.
- Monitor system health and manage incidents.
- Plan and execute sprints and roadmap deliverables, ensuring clear timelines and resource alignment.
- Optimise CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Work closely with engineering, product, and strategy teams.
- Contribute to the engineering, SDLC and QA strategy.
- Conduct performance reviews and support career growth.
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders.
- Solid engineering background, spending at least 5+ years working as an engineer developing web applications and APIs (required).
- Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams (required).
- Transparent and inspiring leadership style that builds trust (required).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to guide and challenge teams effectively when needed (required).
- Deep understanding of Agile software development methodologies (required).
- Experience in payments domain (nice-to-have).
- Knowledge of the iGaming industry (nice-to-have).
