Description

The role is for a skilled Senior Backend Engineer looking to make an impact in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The engineer will join the dynamic Core Platform Team, the backbone of the product ecosystem. This team is a crucial part of the Core division, responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving the foundational services and data infrastructure that power the products.

The mission is to provide scalable, reliable, and performant solutions for processing vast amounts of data, supporting various product teams across the company. The engineer will tackle exciting challenges in distributed systems, high-volume data streams, and ensuring the stability and performance of critical platform components. The team is a growing team of 10 experienced engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning. This is a challenging and rewarding environment for those passionate about backend engineering, data processing, and building robust platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Contributing to the development and architectural design of Rhino, the multi-brand gaming platform built on 230+ microservices.
  • Securing deliveries and helping colleagues with theirs.
  • Maintaining and upgrading systems and services.
  • Identifying and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Optimising existing systems for efficiency.
  • Ensuring data integrity.
  • Taking full ownership of features and projects from conceptualisation and design through development, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Working closely with QA and contributing to testing activity in the team.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in Java with Spring Boot (required).
  • Experience in several of these technologies: SQL, Jenkins, Maven, Git, Docker, Spring, JUnit (required).
  • Experience with Kotlin (nice-to-have).
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (nice-to-have).
  • Knowledge of the messaging platform Kafka (nice-to-have).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (nice-to-have).
