Senior Backend Engineer - Sports
Join our dynamic team in Warsaw as a Senior Backend Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our Sportsbook domain, by working on the most impactful problems and being able to bring about change with effective momentum.
You'll collaborate closely with our Staff Engineers, participating in tech meetings, validating architectural decisions, and ensuring seamless communication flow. Additionally, you'll work collaboratively with various teams, contributing to planning, tech solutions discussions, and feature development. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive solutions and actively shape our backend architecture.
- Taking ownership, problem-solving and collaborating with other teams.
- Designing and implementing from idea to production.
- Building for scale, availability, performance and security across the stack.
- Working with product managers, architects, QA engineers and other developers in a highly collaborative agile environment.
- Integrating new products and building internal services to support our ecosystem.
- Conducting code reviews and mentoring team members.
- Ensuring services are production-ready, observable, and maintainable through monitoring, alerting, and on-call participation.
- 6+ Years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot and Event-Driven Architectures (required).
- Experience designing Microservices, K8s and Containerization (Docker) and Kafka messaging systems (required).
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and caching (required).
- Implementing resilience patterns (e.g., retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation) (required).
- Designing and maintaining monitoring dashboards (e.g., metrics, logs, traces) and alerts to proactively detect issues (required).
- Hands-on experience developing highly scalable RESTful end-to-end Microservices (required).
- Familiarity with Reactive Programming (e.g. RxJava) and Vert.x (nice-to-have).
- Experience in platforms like AWS and Google Cloud Platform (nice-to-have).
- Online gaming and gambling experience (nice-to-have).
