Senior JavaScript Engineer

Description

LeoVegas is looking for a passionate and experienced self-driven Senior JavaScript Engineer to join its mission to deliver the greatest igaming experience to customers. As part of a multinational frontend team, the successful candidate will set the technical direction that other engineers build on, designing and maintaining the shared frontend framework used across the company.

In close collaboration with designers and backend peers, the role involves working on a broad variety of initiatives, ranging from responsible gaming and payments to the casino lobby layout and new market entries.

Responsibilities
  • Architecting, improving, and maintaining the internal front-end framework and foundational platform.
  • Designing generic, reusable code for development teams, including APIs, extension points, deprecation paths, and backward compatibility.
  • Championing Developer Experience (DX) and acting as a developer advocate across engineering teams.
  • Driving the foundational front-end development powering LeoVegas.com, supporting new brand launches and market expansions.
  • Setting technical direction, standards, and best practices across front-end engineering.
  • Coaching and mentoring engineers across multinational front-end teams.
  • Developing high-quality, product-focused JavaScript applications to deliver a smooth and engaging user experience.
Requirements
  • Proven experience with JavaScript, alongside hands-on working experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js (required).
  • Solid knowledge of GraphQL (required).
  • A proven track record of designing and evolving shared code, libraries, frameworks, or design systems consumed by other teams, including versioning, deprecation, and migration strategies (required).
  • Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and growing other engineers (required).
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered developer tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot (nice-to-have).
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for adopting AI to enhance engineering practices and software delivery (nice-to-have).
  • Comfort with front-end observability and monitoring tools (nice-to-have).
  • Experience integrating a headless CMS into a component-driven frontend (nice-to-have).
  • Familiarity with build tooling at monorepo scale (nice-to-have).
