Collections Manager
Light & Wonder is looking for a Collections Manager to lead the EMEA Collections team and play a key role in protecting cash flow, managing credit risk, and supporting business growth. Based in the Manchester office, this is a highly collaborative leadership role where the successful candidate will work closely with the team, Finance Shared Services colleagues, and stakeholders across the business.
The role combines people leadership with hands-on operational expertise, overseeing collections activities across a diverse customer portfolio. The Collections Manager will drive continuous improvement, forecast cash performance, and ensure compliance with SOX controls while partnering with Sales, Legal, and Finance to balance strong customer relationships with effective risk management.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Collections Specialists supporting the EMEA customer portfolio.
- Oversee accounts receivable ageing reviews, collection activities, and escalations for high-risk or delinquent accounts.
- Drive timely cash collection while maintaining strong customer relationships and minimising business risk.
- Conduct credit reviews and recommend appropriate credit limits, payment terms, and risk mitigation measures.
- Monitor key performance metrics including DSO, overdue balances, bad debt exposure, and unapplied cash.
- Prepare and manage receivables cash forecasts, analysing variances and identifying trends.
- Own SOX controls across the order-to-cash cycle and support internal and external audit requirements.
- Partner with Sales, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders to resolve complex customer issues.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, testing, and business change activities.
- Support acquisitions, migrations, and transition projects across the Finance Shared Services function.
- Proven experience in B2B credit and collections, including leadership or supervisory responsibility (required).
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, credit risk assessment, cash forecasting, and collection strategies (required).
- Experience working within a SOX-controlled environment and supporting audit activities (required).
- Ability to analyse financial statements, credit reports, and customer payment behaviour to make informed decisions (required).
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills (required).
- Experience managing escalations and resolving complex customer issues professionally (required).
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement (required).
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, ideally including Oracle EBS or similar platforms (required).
- Ability to prioritise competing demands while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail (required).
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline (required).
- CICM qualification (nice-to-have).
