Head of Game Project Management
Light & Wonder is looking for a Senior Leader to head the Game Project Management function, which is the discipline responsible for managing the lifecycle of games from initial build to completion. The role involves owning the prioritisation, planning, and delivery of work across Game Operations while setting the standards for project execution.
This position oversees four key areas: project and programme management, prioritisation and workstream delivery, KPIs and reporting, and the tools, systems, and processes that support operations. The successful candidate will apply these disciplines to the function's internal projects, wider company programmes, and collaborative efforts with Game Enablement, Game Release Management, and Integrations teams to improve overall delivery efficiency.
- Define and own the project and programme management methodology, standards, and governance across Game Operations.
- Apply appropriate delivery approaches such as agile, structured, or hybrid with clear stage gates, RAID management, and escalation paths.
- Own the tools, systems, and processes used by the function and scale them as the operation grows.
- Map work flows through Game Operations to identify and resolve inefficiencies, incorporating automation and AI where possible.
- Partner with Game Enablement, Game Release Management, and Integrations to improve their tools, processes, and prioritisation.
- Maintain a central view of every project across Game Operations to ensure visibility of work in flight, progress, and blockers.
- Own the prioritisation of work across Game Operations, controlling intake and triage based on value and business cases.
- Balance competing demands and finite resources while making trade-offs visible to stakeholders.
- Develop resourcing plans, model capacity against demand, and build business cases for investment in people, tools, and processes.
- Drive throughput and reduce cycle times while maintaining quality standards.
- Run the function using clear KPIs such as cycle times, time in queue, throughput, quality, and cost.
- Conduct retrospectives after every delivery to evaluate performance against business cases and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the function by setting direction, building an inclusive team culture, and line-managing project managers and operations leads.
- Build cross-functional relationships and communicate delivery status clearly at all levels.
- 8+ years in project or programme management, including leading delivery at a senior level (required).
- Direct experience in iGaming or an adjacent regulated industry (required).
- Strong track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programmes in fast-moving environments (required).
- Experience building resourcing plans and investment cases for a function or team (required).
- Strong senior stakeholder management and executive communication experience (required).
- Recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP, MSP or a portfolio/programme-level equivalent (preferred).
