Senior Associate Front-End Engineer
The Client Engineer works on the frontlines of a game development team to create compelling game experiences for SG products. The role involves implementing, debugging, modifying, and supporting in-game features, development, and operational tools in a timely manner, while actively participating in the design of the games.
An individual with the technical skills to operate independently, alongside the communication and collaboration skills to be an integral and valued team player is required. At the Software Engineer level, solid skills, experience, and work ethic are needed to succeed, with a desire to learn from teammates while building games that delight customers.
- Implement and maintain client-side code for desktop and mobile games in a thorough and timely manner.
- Work on client/server-based applications using a variety of technologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS etc.
- Contribute to the development of new/innovative games and different features in a game.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience (required)
- 1-3 years of software development experience (required)
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, its quirks, and workarounds (required)
- Experience in Data structures (JavaScript or any programming language) (required)
- Basic understanding of web mark-up, including HTML5 and CSS3 (required)
- Experience with development tools including IDEs, debuggers, bug tracking (required)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, CVS, SVN (required)
- Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming techniques and languages (required)
- Knowledge of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS, jQuery, NodeJS etc. (preferred)
- Hands on experience on other programming languages such as Java, C++, Python etc (preferred)
- Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt (preferred)
- Distributed application (client/server) development experience (preferred)
- Game Development experience (preferred)
- Experience in UI development and animations (preferred)
