2D Spine Animator
This role focuses on creating high-quality animations for various interactive game products, including slot, instant, and crash games.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining production-ready rigs and ensuring that all animation assets are optimised for performance across different platforms. The role involves close collaboration with art and development teams to ensure high standards of visual quality and technical implementation.
- Create high-quality 2D animations for slot, instant, and crash games.
- Build and maintain production-ready Spine rigs for characters, symbols, UI elements, and game objects.
- Animate gameplay states, including idle, win, loss, reactions, transitions, features, and bonus events.
- Collaborate with the Art Director and 2D Artists to define animation style and prepare artwork for rigging.
- Prepare, export, and optimize Spine assets for integration into HTML5(PixiJS, Cocos2d) games.
- Work with Frontend Developers to test animations in-game and improve timing, readability, transitions, and performance.
- Maintain clean project files, create reusable animation assets, estimate tasks, communicate risks, and take ownership of animation quality through final implementation.
- 3+ years of professional experience in 2D game animation, with strong production experience using Spine (required).
- Advanced knowledge of rigging, skinning, meshes, weights, constraints, IK, clipping masks, and animation curves (required).
- Strong understanding of animation principles and the ability to create polished character, symbol, UI, transition, and visual-effect animations (required).
- Experience working on slot, instant, casino, or other interactive game products (required).
- Understanding of game animation pipelines, asset reuse, and performance optimisation for browser-based and mobile games (required).
- Experience preparing and optimising Spine assets for HTML5 integration using PixiJS, Cocos2d, Cocos Creator, or similar technologies (required).
- Ability to work independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, meet deadlines, and demonstrate a strong portfolio or showreel (required).
