SDET

Description

Pin-Up Global is seeking an SDET to design and build the automation stack for a new platform. This role involves creating the structure, conventions, and reporting for both UI and API automation, while ensuring core platform flows are covered effectively.

The successful candidate will work closely with architects, business analysts, and product teams to turn business requirements into automatable scenarios. They will also be responsible for supporting existing QA processes, mentoring team members, and preparing documentation and standards for future automation engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build the automation stack for the new platform: UI + API, structure, conventions, reporting.
  • Cover core platform flows: client env provisioning, proxy routing, betting integration, later paths.
  • Integrate automation into GitLab CI/CD: smoke on deploy, regression on release, clear pass/fail gates per client env where needed.
  • Build API and integration tests for backend services, client-facing APIs, WS/gRPC where the product uses them.
  • Set up stable test execution: parallel runs, flaky test handling, useful failure output (logs, traces, screenshots).
  • Own test data strategy across client dev environments: users, config, DB fixtures, tenant isolation.
  • Work with architects on testability: mocks/stubs for external betting/casino systems, env topology, debug hooks.
  • Work with BAs and product on scope and AC; turn business flows into automatable scenarios.
  • Support the current QA: pairing, reviews, unblocking, shared ownership of quality on the product.
  • Prepare groundwork for the next engineers in test automation: docs, patterns, backlog, review standards.
  • Investigate production-like issues in test: proxy, network, env drift, client-specific config bugs.
  • Propose improvements to automation and release process; do not wait for a fully written spec on every item.
Requirements
  • 5+ years in test automation / SDET, with strong E2E coverage for web UI and backend services (required)
  • Experience building or rebuilding an automation framework from early stage, not only maintaining an existing one (required)
  • Strong Python for test automation (production-quality test code, reviews, structure) (required)
  • UI automation with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium; stable patterns, not only record-and-play (required)
  • API automation: REST, WebSockets, gRPC; microservices and contract-style checks (required)
  • GitLab CI/CD (or similar): embed smoke/regression in pipelines, quality gates, release checks (required)
  • Solid web fundamentals: HTTP, status codes, sessions, payloads, real-time updates over WS (required)
  • Debug failures using logs, browser devtools, network traces, proxies (Charles/Fiddler), CI artifacts (required)
  • Test data and environment setup: isolated runs per env/client, DB/state handling, config per tenant (required)
  • Work with architects and BAs: clarify flows, testability, mocks, acceptance criteria before coding tests (required)
  • Mentor QA engineers: MR reviews, onboarding, help manual QAE move into automation (required)
  • Comfortable in high-change greenfield work: unclear scope at start, lots of discovery with engineering and product (required)
  • Sportsbook, betting, iGaming, casino or real-time fintech background (nice-to-have)
  • Knowledge of bet placement, settlement, cashout, balances, live/in-play flows (nice-to-have)
  • Playwright as primary UI tool (nice-to-have)
  • Load/performance testing (k6, JMeter, Locust) for APIs under traffic (nice-to-have)
  • Docker/K8s for test envs and runners (nice-to-have)
  • Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, ReportPortal for test health and failure analysis (nice-to-have)
  • Browser/device matrix based on real usage data (nice-to-have)
  • LLM-assisted test maintenance or synthetic data (as a helper, not a replacement for design) (nice-to-have)
  • Self-hosted Playwright/Selenium grids or custom runner pools (nice-to-have)
Benefits
  • An exciting and challenging job in a fast-growing business group, the opportunity to be part of a multicultural team of top professionals in Development, Architecture, Management, Operations, Marketing, Legal, Finance and more.
  • Great working atmosphere with passionate experts and leaders, sharing a friendly culture and a success-driven mindset is guaranteed.
  • Beautiful offices in Warsaw, Limassol, Yerevan - work remotely or on-site with comfort and enjoy the opportunity to build a network of connections with professionals day by day.
  • Modern corporate equipment based on macOS or Windows and additional equipment are provided.
  • Paid vacations, sick leave, personal events days, days off.
  • Corporate healthcare program for your well-being.
  • Referral program - enjoy cooperation with your colleagues and get the bonus.
