Software Engineer (GO)
Pin-Up Global is looking for a Software Engineer (GO). This role involves designing, building, and owning features or components from concept to production.
The successful candidate will contribute high-quality, maintainable code and participate actively in code reviews. They will also take part in architectural discussions, providing technical insight and guidance. Collaboration with teammates, mentoring where needed, and sharing knowledge are key aspects of this role. Continuous improvement of the codebase, processes, and developer experience is also expected.
- Design, build, and own features or components from concept to production.
- Contribute high-quality, maintainable code and participate actively in code reviews.
- Take part in architectural discussions, providing technical insight and guidance.
- Collaborate closely with teammates, mentoring where needed and sharing knowledge.
- Continuously improve the codebase, processes, and developer experience.
- 4+ years of commercial software development experience, including 2+ years with Go (required)
- Strong understanding of Go idioms, error handling, and performance tuning (required)
- Experience building and maintaining microservices in production (required)
- Solid SQL skills and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions) (required)
- Experience with ClickHouse or similar OLAP/analytical databases (aggregations, high-volume writes/reads, partitioning) (required)
- Experience with message brokers; NATS (or comparable: Kafka, RabbitMQ) for async communication and event-driven flows (required)
- Ability to design reliable, scalable services under high load (throughput, latency, backpressure, idempotency) (required)
- Experience with gRPC APIs, service contracts, and inter-service communication (required)
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments (required)
- Experience with Git, code review, and collaborative development (required)
- Direct experience with billing, payments, invoicing, or financial/statistical systems (required)
- High-load / high-availability production experience (metrics, profiling, capacity planning) (required)
- NATS JetStream, pub/sub patterns, event sourcing, or CQRS (preferred)
- Kubernetes (preferred)
- Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, structured logging, distributed tracing (preferred)
- CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Argo CD, etc.) (preferred)
- Redis or other caching layers (preferred)
- Protobuf, gRPC, API versioning practices (preferred)
- Experience with migrations, zero-downtime deployments, and backward-compatible schema changes (preferred)
- Experience in fintech or other data-heavy domains (preferred)
- Ownership - you take responsibility for features from design through production (required)
- Problem-solving - you debug complex issues in distributed systems calmly and systematically (required)
- Teamwork - you collaborate in code reviews, planning, and incident response (required)
- Attention to detail - especially important for billing (accuracy, consistency, edge cases) (required)
