Software Engineer (GO)
Pin-Up Global is seeking a Software Engineer (GO) to join their team. This role involves designing, building, and operating high-performance, scalable Go services with a focus on clear ownership and clean architecture.
The successful candidate will work within a multicultural team of professionals to maintain and evolve service observability, ensure code quality through rigorous testing, and contribute to the long-term direction of the platform.
- Design, build, and operate high-performance, scalable Go services with clear ownership, clean architecture, and strong adherence to GRASP/SOLID and idiomatic Go practices.
- Set and uphold engineering standards through thoughtful code reviews, CI enforcement, automated testing, and continuous quality improvement.
- Proactively optimize latency, throughput, and resource efficiency using profiling, benchmarking, and data-driven performance analysis.
- Own and evolve service observability by maintaining robust metrics, structured logging, and distributed tracing across the platform.
- Identify technical debt and legacy risks, and execute safe, incremental refactoring that improves reliability, readability, and maintainability.
- Partner closely with Product, DevOps, and adjacent engineering teams to align technical solutions with business goals and delivery timelines.
- Contribute to infrastructure and delivery improvements, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and ArgoCD-driven Kubernetes deployments.
- Provide reliable on-call support, lead effective incident response, and drive follow-up actions to prevent recurrence.
- Actively participate in architectural reviews and technical decision-making, helping shape long-term CMS platform direction.
- Maintain clear, accurate technical documentation and share knowledge through written guides, reviews, and internal sessions.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years dedicated to Go in production systems. (required)
- Advanced mastery of Go core features, including concurrency patterns (goroutines, channels, mutexes), context management, and memory dynamics (escape analysis, garbage collection). (required)
- Deep experience designing and building RESTful APIs, gRPC services, and event-driven microservices architectures. (required)
- Hands-on profiling and performance tuning using tools like pprof and trace execution. (required)
- Proficiency with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB) databases, including query optimization and schema design. (required)
- Experience with message brokers such as NATS, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS etc. (required)
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes. (required)
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP etc) and CI/CD automated deployment pipelines. (required)
- Commitment to code quality, write unit/integration tests (testing, testify), and practice Test-Driven Development (TDD). (required)
- Solid understanding of distributed system patterns: circuit breakers, rate limiting, distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry), and centralized logging. (required)
- Strong technical communication, system design breakdown, and tradeoff evaluation capabilities. (required)
