Team Lead GO

Pin-Up Global is looking for a Team Lead GO to oversee technical execution and lead a development team. The role involves balancing hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality features, and managing the professional growth of team members.

The successful candidate will work within a multicultural environment, driving technical standards and fostering a collaborative team culture. This position requires a strong background in microservices architecture and a commitment to maintaining robust, production-ready systems.

• Own the day-to-day technical execution within the team – from new features to bug fixes and quality improvements.
• Ensure the team’s code quality via reviews and enforcement of best practices – tests, security, and maintainability.
• Drive code reviews, enforce coding standards, promote testing and documentation, and help the team write robust, production-ready code.
• Support and contribute to hands-on coding/testing. Lead by example through hands-on development, particularly for complex or critical features.
• Own delivery of features and components as defined in sprint goals.
• Facilitate design discussions within the team; escalate complex architecture topics to EM or Architect.
• Raise and track technical debt; provide input to the EM for prioritization.
• Facilitate task prioritization, workload balancing, and sprint planning.
• Track progress, identify risks, and resolve blockers.
• Ensure alignment with PMs, QA, DevOps, and BAs on deliverables.
• Break down work items into deliverable tasks in collaboration with PMs and EMs, balancing workload fairly across developers and helping manage priorities during sprints.
• Actively participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Monitor team progress and adjust scope or priorities when needed, escalating blockers to the EM.
• Maintain transparency on delivery status and keep stakeholders informed of changes, delays, or challenges.
• Coordinate hand-offs and dependencies within the team and with adjacent teams.
• Directly manage engineers on the team (Juniors, Middles, Seniors).
• Conduct 1:1s, performance evaluations, career growth discussions, and coaching.
• Provide day-to-day mentoring and guidance to developers, especially juniors and mids - by answering questions, sharing context, and offering feedback.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture; ensure psychological safety, motivation, and team morale.
• Identify talent and growth opportunities; support professional development.
• Partner with EM and Domain Lead to hire, onboard, and retain high-quality engineers.
• Encourage a sense of ownership and pride in the team’s work; celebrate wins and learn from failures together.
• Keep EM and PM informed of the team's progress, risks, and dependencies.
• Share updates from EM or domain leads with the team.
• Act as the go-to person for team-level updates in cross-team syncs or sprint reviews.
• Participate in cross-team discussions to ensure alignment with domain strategy and priorities.

• 5+ years of professional experience with Golang (required)
• 1+ years of experience in a Technical Lead or Team Lead role (required)
• Strong expertise in Go and microservices architecture (required)
• Experience designing and implementing REST and RPC services (required)
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration (required)
• Practical experience with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines (required)
• Solid experience with multiple databases – RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL, Redis, etc. (required)
• Experience working with messaging systems (NATS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka) (required)
• Understanding of software engineering best practices – unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, and clean code principles (required)
• Strong knowledge of scalable, distributed systems design and reliability engineering (required)
• Hands-on experience in containerized environments and CI/CD automation (required)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (required)
• Knowledge of the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir) or similar monitoring/observability solutions (required)
• Familiarity with tracking engineering and delivery metrics (e.g., DORA metrics, sprint velocity) to continuously analyze and improve team performance (required)
• Ability to balance "perfect" technical solutions with business priorities and time-to-market (required)
• On-call duty experience (required)
