UI/UX Engineer
Pin-Up Global is looking for a UI/UX Engineer. This role focuses on creating highly interactive, cross-platform prototypes designed to secure stakeholder approval and simulate final product behaviour. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical ability with front-end UI implementation and have an eagle-eye for detail when QAing interfaces. A deep understanding of UX fundamentals and strong communication skills are essential for showcasing prototypes and incorporating feedback. The role involves working closely with stakeholders, artists, game designers, and core developers to align the final product with the approved prototype vision.
- Build highly interactive, clickable prototypes that simulate real game behaviour across target platforms, ensuring stakeholders experience the closest possible representation of the final product for quick approval.
- Build high-fidelity mockups and wireframes using Figma, iterating rapidly based on stakeholder feedback and technical constraints.
- Identify, map, and refine UI/UX behaviours to ensure intuitive and frictionless player journeys before full engineering implementation begins.
- Rigorously test implemented UI in-game/in-app to locate visual inconsistencies, clipping, alignment issues, and broken user flows against the approved prototypes.
- Jump directly into the UI codebase or engine to quickly resolve small bugs, adjust margins/padding, update hex codes, and fix minor layout breaks without waiting on a dedicated engineer.
- Work closely with stakeholders, artists, game designers, and core developers to align the final product with the original, approved prototype vision.
- Proven experience creating highly interactive, cross-platform prototypes designed to secure stakeholder approval and simulate final product behaviour. (required)
- Mastery of Figma, specifically regarding advanced prototyping, complex component architecture, and auto-layout. (required)
- Demonstrated technical ability with front-end UI implementation (specifically utilising HTML5, JavaScript/TypeScript, and PixiJS) and the capacity to tweak UI code directly. (required)
- An eagle-eye for detail, with a strong ability to QA interfaces and spot minor visual misalignments or inconsistent interactive states. (required)
- Deep understanding of UX fundamentals, interactive design, and how players interact with complex menus and game HUDs. (required)
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively showcase prototypes to stakeholders and efficiently incorporate feedback. (required)
- Previous experience in the gaming industry (HUDs, inventory systems, cross-platform controller navigation). (nice-to-have)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Perforce). (nice-to-have)
