Senior Game Mathematician
Playson is looking for an experienced Mathematician to join the game development squad. The role involves collaborating with product owners and cross-functional teams to develop and refine engaging game mathematics and mechanics.
The successful candidate will contribute to the entire game creation process, from initial concept and rapid prototyping to final implementation. The role requires a focus on performance, risk analysis, and the delivery of high-quality gaming experiences that align with the company's portfolio goals.
- Develop engaging game mathematics and mechanics in collaboration with Product Owners and cross-functional teams
- Fine-tune game mathematics and mechanics into the best possible product
- Perform simulations of game math to understand how it compares with the desired outcome and with other games in the portfolio
- Provide competitive game math analysis to reveal valuable insights
- Rapid prototyping of game mechanics to prove the concept
- Be involved in the game creation process from start to finish
- Collaborate with development teams, provide game math specifications
- Be a discussion sparring partner inside the team to help build better games
- Analyse risks and determine the probability of wins for player investigations
- Share knowledge, establish best practices, and challenge the status quo
- Provide analytical support, including Big Win validations, player session analysis, and RTP deviation monitoring to ensure game integrity and performance
- Proven track record (3+ years) of successful work as a game mathematician in online gambling (required)
- Scripting skills, any programming language (Typescript, Javascript preferred) (required)
- Good understanding of main programming paradigms (required)
- Talent for solving abstract and highly complex math problems (required)
- High attention to detail: ability to spot even small mistakes in your math models and troubleshoot them (required)
- Interest in slot games both from a developer and player point of view (required)
- Ability to quickly prototype rough ideas (required)
- Basic understanding of HTTP client-server requests (required)
- Data-driven and analytical mindset in decision-making (required)
- Motivated by challenges and stretch goals (required)
- Good level of spoken and written English (required)
- Strong mathematical intuition, creativity, and curiosity (nice-to-have)
- Ability to look at games from the players’ point of view (nice-to-have)
