Cloud Security Engineer

Description

Playtech is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cloud Security Engineer to help drive the security posture of the company and its subsidiaries. This position ensures the proper security design and operation of cloud environments in Azure or GCP, primarily focusing on IaaS and PaaS for various services and applications.

The Cloud Security Engineer works closely with product teams across the company to assist in building and maintaining secure cloud environments. The role involves overseeing governance, implementing security controls, and providing subject-matter expertise to ensure the integrity of cloud-native infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee cloud security governance and monitoring.
  • Maintain a Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solution.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, IT, development and GRC teams to provide subject-matter expertise in the Google Cloud domain.
  • Support and maintain cloud-native security controls.
  • Conduct security reviews for cloud environments.
  • Develop documentation outlining security recommendations and best practices.
  • Identify weak spots, missing controls, and vulnerabilities, providing clear recommendations for improvement and remediation.
  • Stay current on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and cloud security controls.
  • Participate in investigations and responses to potential security incidents.
  • Implement automation for security-related tasks.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar technical security role (required).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) / Google Workspace (required).
  • Strong knowledge of CSPM and DSPM solutions (required).
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure, including architecture best practices, managed services, typical vulnerabilities, mitigations, and security best practices (required).
  • Ability to communicate clearly, positively, and persuasively on security topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (required).
  • Strong security mindset with a business-enablement focus (required).
  • Familiarity with modern application development approaches such as infrastructure as code, CI/CD, containers, serverless, and code/artifact repositories (nice-to-have).
  • Broad IT and enterprise architecture knowledge including TCP/IP stack, relevant protocols, firewall, proxy, server OS like Windows/Linux, and web/database servers (required).
  • Basic scripting skills in Python or Shell to automate and streamline daily tasks (required).
  • Basic understanding of AI concepts and practical experience using AI tools to improve productivity, automation, and security workflows (required).
  • Effective communication skills in spoken and written English (required).
  • Ability to operate effectively within an enterprise environment (required).
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud (nice-to-have).
  • Relevant security, systems, or networking certifications (nice-to-have).
