Internal Audit Assistant Manager
Playtech is looking for an Internal Audit Assistant Manager with a strong technology background to lead practical, insightful audits across its global business. The role involves taking ownership of technology-focused work, collaborating with senior stakeholders, specialist teams, and third-party providers, and translating technical risks into improvements that work in practice.
In this role, the successful candidate will manage technology-focused audits from planning through to reporting, while supporting broader operational reviews and coordinating work delivered by third-party providers. The focus is on producing clear, evidence-based insights that help stakeholders strengthen risk management and controls.
- Plan and deliver IT audits independently, including defining scope, assessing risks, completing and documenting fieldwork, discussing findings with stakeholders and producing clear, evidence-based reports.
- Investigate beyond surface-level issues to identify root causes, control weaknesses and sustainable improvement opportunities.
- Assess technology, security and IT general controls, then translate technical evidence into clear findings, business impact and practical recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build trusted relationships with technology, security and operational stakeholders across the global organisation.
- Coordinate work delivered by third-party audit providers, setting clear expectations, monitoring progress and quality, resolving delivery bottlenecks and maintaining oversight of assigned work.
- Support audits led by the Head of Internal Audit and contribute to selected operational audits, applying a technology perspective while developing a broader understanding of the business.
- Help stakeholders strengthen controls and processes with solutions that are proportionate, practical and realistic.
- Use available technology, data and AI-enabled tools thoughtfully to improve audit quality, efficiency and insight.
- Relevant experience in IT audit, technology risk, cybersecurity, controls, GRC, consulting or a related area, typically gained over 3–5 years (required).
- Substantial exposure to technology environments and assurance work (required).
- Understanding of how systems, technology risks and controls connect in practice (required).
- Ability to manage an IT audit or clearly owned workstream with autonomy, structure and accountability (required).
- Confident communication skills with technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders (required).
- Ability to balance professional rigour with empathy, flexibility and commercial awareness (required).
- Professional-level English and the right to work in the location where you apply (required).
- Degree in Computer Science, Computing, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
- Hands-on experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, IT general controls, technology risk, GRC, process improvement or technology consulting (preferred).
- Experience supporting control environments as they mature (preferred).
- Relevant certification such as CISA, CIA or another technology, security, risk or audit qualification (preferred).
- Knowledge of a programming language such as Python, or experience using technology to automate or improve analysis (nice-to-have).
- Practical experience using, exploring or evaluating AI-enabled tools (nice-to-have).
- Experience working with external or co-sourced audit providers (nice-to-have).
