Junior Automation QA Engineer
Playtech's Casino unit is looking for a proactive Junior Automation QA Engineer with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
The role involves reviewing and analysing requirements and specifications, creating test documentation, and performing various types of testing. The engineer will design and implement automated test cases, build and maintain test frameworks, and set up test environments. Responsibilities also include executing automated tests through CI/CD pipelines, analysing failures, and reporting defects.
This position requires a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and experience in Agile environments. The successful candidate will work with mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Review and analyze requirements and specifications.
- Create various types of test documentation, including checklists, test suites, and Test Plans.
- Create bug reports and tasks in Jira.
- Perform various types of testing.
- Analyze test results, issues, and failures.
- Provide test reports.
- Design and implement automated test cases (UI, API).
- Build and maintain test frameworks (e.g., Appium + TestNG).
- Set up and maintain test environments, test data, and device farms.
- Execute automated tests and report results through CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze failures and identify real bugs versus flaky tests.
- Report, validate, and track defects.
- Maintain and improve the stability of the test framework.
- 2+ years of experience in software testing, including 1+ years in test automation (required).
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, approaches, and best practices (required).
- Hands-on experience creating and reviewing test cases, checklists, and test plans (required).
- Experience in various testing types, including functional, load, and stress testing (required).
- Experience working in Agile environments and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (required).
- Experience testing mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms (required).
- Experience building or improving testing processes from scratch (required).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (required).
- Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and TestRail (required).
- Communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken (required).
- Base programming skills in Java, with an understanding of programming patterns and principles (required).
- Hands-on experience with mobile test automation for Android and iOS hybrid applications using Selenium, Appium, TestNG, and Java (required).
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and SVN (required).
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and HTTP-based technologies (required).
- Good understanding of relational databases and SQL (required).
- Familiarity with BDD, ATDD, and TDD approaches (required).
- Experience working with JSON and XML data formats (required).
- Experience using AI-powered coding tools such as Cursor (nice-to-have).
