Site Reliability Automation Engineer
Playtech's Development unit is looking for a proactive Site Reliability Automation Engineer with excellent problem-solving skills.
The role involves developing and maintaining automated integration tests using C#/.NET and NUnit, and extending and improving the existing automation framework.
Responsibilities include automating test scenarios based on product requirements and test plans, investigating test failures using logs, database records and application data, and reporting product defects with clear steps, evidence and expected behaviour.
The engineer will also maintain stable automated regression suites, collaborate with developers, QA engineers and other stakeholders, and participate in code reviews and continuous improvement activities.
- Develop and maintain automated integration tests using C#/.NET and NUnit.
- Extend and improve the existing automation framework.
- Automate test scenarios based on product requirements and test plans.
- Investigate test failures using logs, database records and application data.
- Report product defects with clear steps, evidence and expected behaviour.
- Maintain stable automated regression suites.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers and other stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement activities.
- Have good knowledge of C#/.NET and solid object-oriented programming fundamentals (required)
- Have basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases (required)
- Have practical experience with NUnit and Selenium WebDriver (required)
- Are familiar with Git and Atlassian Stash/Bitbucket (required)
- Understand client-server communication, HTTP, JSON, and REST APIs (required)
- Have a basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with Jenkins (required)
- Have basic familiarity with Kafka and Redis (required)
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills (required)
- Have good Linux/Unix and server log troubleshooting skills, including the use of SSH (required)
- Understand monolithic and microservices architectures, including component dependencies, messaging, and caching (required)
- Can analyze failed automated tests, inspect logs, and identify root causes (required)
- Have good written and spoken English (required)
- Are willing to learn and work with complex systems (required)
- Familiarity with Docker, Nomad and microservice architectures (nice-to-have)
- Experience with API testing tools or libraries such as Postman or RestSharp (nice-to-have)
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot (nice-to-have)
- Understanding software testing principles, test design and defect lifecycle (nice-to-have)
- Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL (nice-to-have)
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and using Jira (nice-to-have)
- Knowledge of poker rules, game types or terminology (nice-to-have)
