HR Business Partner
The HR Business Partner is the first point of contact for people matters within their business area. Working closely with managers and employees, they deliver high-quality HR support, ensure compliance and build the trusted partnerships that enable the business to focus on performance.
This role involves building and maintaining trusted relationships with managers and employees, developing a strong understanding of business priorities, and translating them into relevant HR support. The HR Business Partner will also support talent and performance initiatives, manage employee relations cases, and ensure the consistent implementation of HR policies and processes. Additionally, the role requires tracking and interpreting key people metrics to inform business decisions and identify trends.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with managers and employees across your business area.
- Develop a strong understanding of business priorities and translate them into relevant HR support.
- Attend team meetings and business forums to stay close to operational needs and priorities.
- Provide timely, accurate and pragmatic HR guidance on people matters.
- Support managers in identifying high-potential individuals and flagging succession risks.
- Facilitate individual development planning and performance conversations with managers.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on role briefs, interview processes and hiring decisions.
- Track attrition trends within your area and escalate talent risks proactively.
- Manage employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, performance) with guidance from senior HRBPs.
- Apply employment law knowledge to provide sound advice on people risk to managers.
- Coach managers through difficult conversations, providing structure and support.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases in a timely and well-documented manner.
- Implement HR policies, processes and programmes consistently within your area.
- Coordinate with HR Operations, TA, L&D and Comp & Reward to deliver a seamless HR service.
- Support the delivery of cyclical HR processes: performance reviews, promotions, engagement surveys.
- Identify process gaps and escalate with constructive suggestions for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and ARRISE policies at all times.
- Track and interpret key people metrics for your area: headcount, attrition, absence and engagement.
- Use data to inform and support business cases and manager conversations.
- Identify trends or anomalies and bring observations forward with context and recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; able to earn trust quickly at all levels (required).
- Good working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice (required).
- Comfortable interpreting HR data and people metrics to support decisions (required).
- Clear, empathetic and professional communicator in both written and verbal formats (required).
- Organised, delivery-focused and able to manage multiple competing priorities effectively (required).
