Legal Counsel - Employment and Privacy
ARRISE is seeking a Legal Counsel with a strong focus on employment and privacy law to join its legal team. The role involves providing strategic legal guidance and support in all matters related to employment and privacy law.
The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting documentation, conducting legal research, and collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance. This position is designed for a professional who can assist in building scalable legal processes and maintain regulatory relationships within a dynamic environment.
- Provide practical, timely legal advice on employment issues, including employee terminations, complaints, and tailoring work schedules to meet business needs.
- Advise on privacy-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Draft and review employment and privacy documentation, such as contracts, policies, and notices.
- Conduct contract negotiations.
- Conduct in-depth research on legal topics, including employment, privacy, and artificial intelligence, referencing case law and regulatory updates.
- Identify legal issues, analyse legal risks, and assist in developing and implementing solutions.
- Support and advise other departments as necessary.
- Liaise with external advisors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and resolve legal issues.
- Assist in building a scalable foundation for the Legal Team by developing templates, processes, and policies.
- Maintain records of group policies and procedures and ensure adherence internally and with relevant regulatory authorities.
- Oversee contractual obligations and maintain contractual and regulatory relationships.
- Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory updates, particularly in employment, privacy, and commercial law.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as determined by the VP of legal.
- Master of Law degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Malta or the UK (required).
- 2 years as a practicing lawyer, with a strong focus on employment and privacy law (required).
- Strong analytical abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills (required).
- High proficiency in English (verbal and written) (required).
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and prioritisation skills (required).
- Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment (required).
- Outcome-focused with a pragmatic approach to applying legal principles (required).
- Experience in employment litigation (preferred).
- Familiarity with multijurisdictional legal environments (nice-to-have).
