Senior UI Product Designer, Slots & Arcade
The role focuses on improving the gaming experience within the RNG portfolio, with a particular emphasis on slots. The aim is to ensure that every part of the player's journey, especially game design, is simple, intuitive, and fun. This involves working with key stakeholders across the business to help design and bring new user experience flows to life before any code is written.
This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to bring wow visual design, rapid prototyping, and execution to a highly driven, fast-moving, and talented team. The position reports to the CPO and works closely with product owners, specialists, designers, business analysts, and development teams. The role can be based on the ground in Gibraltar or Malta, or performed remotely.
- Work closely with the ecosystem and slots team to help conceptualise and iterate new UI designs for customers.
- Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and brainstorming sessions.
- Create working design components and update existing design systems and patterns.
- Meet with stakeholders, product, business analysis, and development teams to discuss designs and prototypes.
- Assist teams with questions about designs and to help guide specifications.
- Conduct flow and scenario testing, which may require revisions to designs for edge cases.
- Present concepts clearly, concisely, and effectively to the team and stakeholders.
- Adjust designs based on feedback from stakeholders or from broader technical challenges, constraints, or limitations that may arise during the production process.
- Prepare tidy, thoughtful, and well-structured source files for development and supervise their implementation to ensure they are delivered according to the original vision.
- Create mobile and desktop prototypes to demonstrate functionality, solve animation and interaction sequences, and foster critical fine-tuning feedback from stakeholders.
- Provide feedback on other proposed designs and requirements within the team, particularly in cases where it may affect dependencies and connected interaction design.
- Document new controls and designs so that other team members clearly understand the design decisions and how to use, implement, or maintain the outputs.
- Update design systems and common controls where necessary to ensure that iterations are fully documented, updated, and usable by the rest of the team.
- Liaise with other design teams throughout the business to ensure broad alignment with design systems and characteristics.
- Create high-fidelity concepts and designs from the outset.
- Work with graphic designers and other design teams to bring gaming UI functionality to other areas of the business.
- Consider how designs fit within the broader ecosystem and how other areas, such as live casino, may be addressed for consistency, using a measured and phased approach with thoughtful prioritisation.
- Keep an eye on broader design trends and tools, especially within the gaming and entertainment spaces, to ensure best design practices are maintained and customer expectations are exceeded.
- Provide thoughtful, considered feedback on the overall roadmap and user experience strategy.
- Experience in a game design or creative related field (required).
- Experience in iGaming (preferred).
- Ability to understand the mindset of a gaming customer and balance those with the needs of business-to-business clients (required).
- Must have built sophisticated, high-fidelity, production-like prototypes for mobile and desktop interfaces (required).
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma or Sketch (required).
- Clear understanding of usability, user-centred design, and web standards (required).
- Very comfortable with prototyping (required).
- Extremely high-fidelity prototyping using advanced tools like Origami Studio (nice-to-have).
- Understanding of interaction design and ability to set up and guide specific animation sequences (required).
- Working knowledge of Adobe's Creative Cloud Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator (nice-to-have).
- Ability to delve into graphic design, motion graphics, animation, or video outside of product and UI design (nice-to-have).
- Some technical background or knowledge (preferred).
- Ability to code in HTML or CSS (nice-to-have).
